Is Philo that good?

No. Hence the humor.
But he’s been sitting behind Haynes King the past two years and pretty much just doing mop-up duty. The only game he got real reps was the NCST game in 2024 because of King’s injury and that’s the game where he got ACC ROW.

I just think we don’t know yet, but it depends on what Sumrall puts together. I don’t have high hopes for Philo to knock it out of the park at UF given what they are going through, but I don’t think he’s bad.

You can get Peyton Manning to be your QB but he’s not going to be very good if he’s trying to avoid getting destroyed or lying on his back wondering what hit him.

No, but this is the same kind of attitude that killed golden and many other g5 coaches. He is settling for a career backup from Georgia tech only because he hired the offensive coordinator. He is not attacking it as if Florida is a premier brand. I’m not saying it currently is, but if you take a significant step up in brand without swinging for the fences on the elite, you’re setting yourself up for failure.

I don’t disagree with that at all. I just disagreed with the knocking on Philo. ****, it’s kind of a lateral move at this point for him given where UF is as a program these days. If I’m him, I stay at GT unless I get an offer to a program that has its **** together.

And you summed up why Stricklin (AD) is the issue. He is so out of his league at UF and they did the same crap they did with Billy all over again. We will be having these same conversations in 2029.
