If Lane has his choice between college and NFL I would take the NFL… college jobs these days are way more demanding and more difficult IMO.

Almost 24/6 365… NIL.. high school and portal recruiting. Kissing boosters asses… almost no offseason.

If he gets offers from Giants or even Dolphins I would take those. Pro coaches are making just as much as college

I read that too.He's got a couple daughters in school at Ole Miss and he’s getting his marriage back after a lot of struggles and his wife loves the place.Plus he’s got the program on cruise control now it seems.
I mean if you’re comfortable at a place making 10-12 million a year is it really worth uprooting your family from a place they like for a little more money to go take over a program that is trash and will expect a complete turnaround in 1-2 yr.?
I think he stays at Ole Miss but that’s just me and I guess we will see.

Agreed. That Giants job has to be tempting even outside of Dart being there. You have Nabers, some pieces on defense, it's not a total disaster from a talent standpoint. Giants have to want to have him of course and if NFL doesn't work out, he can come to college and have his choice of jobs (just like Saban to a lesser extent)

The Giants’s problem isn’t the coach; it’s the Maras. Y’all are ****ed for a good long time.

Sorry, bro. My husband and one of our closest family friends are both Giants fans so I hear it all the time. John Mara is an alumnus of my law school and spoke at our graduation and he’s a real piece of work. I truly think all y’all can hope for is that his kin have some more sense than he does, because he micromanages even more than Shalala did when she was here. It’s bad.

I hear this a bunch but I’m like wasn’t he here when we won titles?

I do know he wants to win, but does he do the right thing? Not anytime recently he hasn’t, it doesn’t bother me a bunch cause it’s not the canes. And I have seen superbowl in high definition, the canes on the other hand better win one in this age.

Giants should have never gotten rid of Jerry Reese. Young to Accorsi to Reese was elite. Gettleman was an idiot, and Joe Schoen the jury is still out on

I think he's a really good coach and would turn UiF into something respectable - but I think he's peaked at Ole Miss. He'll never be more than a coach that flirts with the Playoffs.
