Tears Gator Tears

Good question. LSU managed 13 offensive points off 5 INTs. I know UF has some talent on defense but they're not THAT good. My guess is that they are pretty decent and LSU's offense is pretty average.
Exactly. And then the other teams they played are USF and LIU. LIU is obviously going to be completely overmatched, but if UF’s defense was so great, it should show in the numbers, right?

Well, let’s take a look…

Looks like USF’s defense actually did a slightly better job than UF’s defense. Maybe that’s the real reason USF came out on top, and not the refs, and the spitting, and all the other dumb excuses Gators had post-game.

I haven’t been impressed with LSU’s offense yet, and Nussmeier hasn’t done anything worthy of the hype yet this year. So I really don’t understand why UF is getting credited for shutting down LSU (other than the obvious - SEC!!!).

I have said that the strength of UF’s team is the talent on D in the LB / DL because there is talent. However, they lack depth of talent here too. And regarding our game with them this week, I am very confident in our OL. And more confident in our WRs than their secondary.

I know a reverse jinx when I see one. Call me what you want, but you guys are a cornered raccoon right now. We (UM) better come out ready to rip UF’s head off. If not, you guys could go 2-10, but derailing our season, at home on gameday, would be the highlight of the season despite your record. I say this because I would want the same thing if the roles were reversed.

We’re going to get the best of Billy scheme wise, we’re going to get the best of Lagway and company, and we’re going to face a defense that has given up 2 touchdowns in 3 games. I’ll take all the crow in the world if this doesn’t come to fruition but I’m fully expecting this to happen come Saturday.

All of the Gator fans laying down and accepting defeat a week in advance will be the first ones chirping all over social media if you pull the upset. It’s a rivalry game, treat it as such.
I see your concern about the gators playing well against us, but it’s more about the CANES than geicos. Mario will have us ready to play football because he knows the history and importance of this game. I told my best friend the two games I’m not worried about before season started was the domers and the geicos. Mario is experienced in both of those games. We will be ready. Book it!! Go CANES!!

UF defense is good. But i dont know how good. They played Long Island, USF and LSU. Those are not offensive juggernauts. Even though USF won 2 games, they got outgained by Boise who they beat down. Correction, USF outgained UF, which is pretty good on the road, which is even a more indictment on UF defense. LSU offense is trash, 3 games is enough to tell, you could claim UF and Clemson or top teams but they struggle with LA Tech at home as well.

USF offense is ranked 85th, and LSU is 95th. Yes they have played good opponents, I dont care who you play, LSU averaging 345 yards after 2 home games is terrible.

So yes, UF has a good defense, are they some shut down cant move the ball type? I dont think so, this will be the first game imo where they will get tested in the run game plus horizontally and vertically down the field. Either way, I dont see a blow out. Probably a 10-13 point to us i think.

There is enough talent on offense to be better than what they’ve shown. Billy has the same problem that a lot of terrible play callers have: if his offensive line isn’t dominant, he has nothing. Gators out there looking like Josh Gattis is calling the plays.

Scrap the heavy sets with all the motion and H-Back shifts and streamline the whole system. Spread the field a little more and give DJ some easier reads. There’s teams out there with much less talent scoring a lot more than Florida because they don’t try to force a terrible offense to work.

Agreed but let him try his way one more week.

Did anybody see the box score? Uif dominated that game and LSU is a school that many people said was a top 5 team in the country. They even gave lsu 7 points off an interception. Nuss is a pretty good qb and he couldn’t move the ball was only able to lead them to 13 offensive points at home. Let’s not count this team as an easy W. All Uif had to do was play decent offensively and this was a statement win for them.
This won’t be an easy game unless LSU is the biggest top 5 fraud in the country.

No arguments here. I'd also like to point out that, against a common opponent one week apart:
  • Points: UF gave up 16; Miami; 6 through 3 quarters and didn't give up a TD til the 4th quarter when the game was long-decided
  • Yardage: 391 USF to 355 UF; 576 Miami to 333 USF with a TOP of 36 minutes.
Maybe this is the best defense we've seen so far, but it's by far the best offense they have seen. We may not be quite as quick strike as last year (though we've had a few quick scoring drives), but this offense and Beck has been the type of grind-you-down-and-take-your-soul offense that can demoralize a team.

Watching the game showed two average teams playing against each other. Take out preseason hype and expectations, SEC logo, and ESPN marketing and it was your typical Iowa vs Iowa St game.

At no point did i said it was a easy win. Also i am agreeing that LSU offense did nothing. They also did nothing against LA Tech at Home and Clemson who just got best by GT. LSU is averaging 345 yards per game. Which then makes me question, is UF defense over powering or is LSU offense just terrible? My thought is its somewhere in between.

Dominated is a big word to use for 44 yards. I see you're basing it on first downs and TOP, that's a slippery slope to base it on IMOP. The more interesting question is how you have 13 more first downs and a full quarter in TOP and only muster 44 more yards?

UF had zero sacks vs LSU and 3 TFLs. Far from dominant performance

I will go safe and predict a early week score of 35-17 Miami. For some reason, I feel my end of the week prediction will be more lopsided for the good guys.
