Tears Gator Tears

Bigger problem imo are coaches who refuse to change. People criticize Mario rightfully for previous hires but he moves decisively and make changes, he dont claim he will double down. U see Billy doing it and even Dabo who had previous success refusing to adapt to the changing landscape. With how quickly the roster can turnover, you dont have 3, 4 years of fkn up. The recruits and fans will spaz out. Especially when they see FSU go 2-10 makes wholesale changes and thump Bama first game. So thats the most important thing for me. Ruthless coaches who change whats not working
Correct. Having a HC who runs either side of the ball is a mistake as we’ve seen. Their egos get too tied up with playcalling and they aren’t able to make changes.

Your top guy has to have the ability and mentality to cut out what doesn’t work, and very few people can admit when they’re the problem.

IF IT WAS ME

Treat the job like it’s “THE JOB” and shoot for the stars. Make Urban or Saban tell you NO. Obviously we KNOW they will say no, but then pivot.

You’ve SEEN us this season, our team can match up with anyone in the country cause the talent is there but they aren’t coached up offensively. Everything offensively is SOOOO hard for us.

I would like whoever is the next coach to be a CEO but but not neglect either side of the ball
Yes, I’ve seen you this season and no, you can’t match up with anyone

I love enjoying gator drama.
But that defense is pretty good. They have a lot of speed in the secondary and are sound in coverage.
Their o-line is hot garbage.
I hope our team doesn’t act like this is gonna be a walk in the park. Uif and fspoo have several players with a lot of speed that can hurt you.

That team has poor discipline and no faith in their staff. They’re gonna be hype to come in here and try to pull an upset and get the ball rolling. But we go up by more than 10 points early and they will fold.

If we start slow and allow this to be a close game it can get very interesting.
Teams with their backs against the ropes can pull of some upsets if they see any hope.

But I just don’t see that team rallying into togetherness in 6 days.
On paper, it will be the toughest team that we face.

Excluding special teams:
Miami: .9075
Notre Dame: .9136
S Florida: .8467
Gators: .8998

On defense, their position rooms exceed ours at safety and cornerback

LMFAO at Miami "not being up for UF/FSU". People type that and really actually believe it.
There are things you can question about Mario but (with a couple exceptions with injuries and talent deficiencies early) he always seems to have his guys up for the big name programs. TAMU, at UF, Notre Dame, and at Ohio State (when he was at Oregon). It's the random duds that have done him in.

This is not a direct attack to you, but once again, our DB rooms don't ever matchup, so why are we comparing them? I'll take our QB/WRs/OC vs their DBs/DC over their QB/WRs/OC vs our DBs/DC.

I wont argue that. Keeping it a bean, the following players are the ones I felt have repped the logo this season on the field:

Baugh
Slaughter
VB3
Money McClain (he’s been EXCELLENT)
Myles Graham
Gumbs
Sapp

Lagway is looking like a lactose intolerant Cleo Lemon
There is enough talent on offense to be better than what they’ve shown. Billy has the same problem that a lot of terrible play callers have: if his offensive line isn’t dominant, he has nothing. Gators out there looking like Josh Gattis is calling the plays.

Scrap the heavy sets with all the motion and H-Back shifts and streamline the whole system. Spread the field a little more and give DJ some easier reads. There’s teams out there with much less talent scoring a lot more than Florida because they don’t try to force a terrible offense to work.

Yeah, I’m really struggling to think of who is going to take the job that will satisfy the fanbase.

Someone like Lanning wouldn’t leave for that rebuild - he has everything in place that he needs at Oregon and things are running smoothly. It’s just a matter of him winning the games he needs to win to make the title and win the ship.

Lane? Well, maybe, but is it a lateral move at this point? Maybe up, maybe down? I honestly don’t know if the UAA would approve him.

Someone like Cignetti maybe? That would be their best bet, but there is no guarantee he will succeed and it is their FIFTH coach in the 15 years since Urban. They have to get this right.
Will be funny when the 6th attempt to fail since Urban is Urban

Dude I just fixed your photo as it wasn’t posted correctly and… that ad in your screenshot… Is this just a research project???

The resident Gator fan in here is a great microcosm of the fan base as a whole. There’s that underlying arrogance that still believes they have immense talent, it’s the top job in the country and all they need is a new coach…and any coach should be beating down the door to get the job.

It’s a mid tier job right now. A rebuild and big lift, with even bigger pressure. A couple of lucky wins against decent teams last season doesn’t change that, it just fooled their fanbase. Reminds me of UM from 2006-2023 lmao.

We've been in this situation ourselves. A decent blue chip ratio and a handful of name players. It's not enough. You need real depth, not three and four stars that will end up transferring to G5.
