Tears Gator Tears

FWIW he said today that Lagway is already out of the Boot. They have an open practice tmrw and he said he’d let me know how he looked. He also said that the “box score doesn’t tell the story” about DJs stats against LSU/Ole Miss lol

But of course it applies to Beck and his INTs since he wanted to harp on the fact that Becks decision making is “very questionable and now he will have less talent around him than at UGA” so they don’t expect much out of him.
The “less talent” argument is just classic sec homerism. We have a better line, comparable receivers and better tight end. Add in a better OC

It's the typical "damned if you do, damned if you don't" logic (or lack thereof).

Yes, for DJ Lagway ONLY "the box score doesn't tell the story". BUT HOW?

LSU game:

---13 completions for 226 yards. ZERO yards rushing (zero attempts). So that is 17.4 yards per completion.
---Lagway's ONE touchdown pass came halfway through the first quarter, for 23 yards. Lagway's first three completions went for 70 yards. Therefore, for the next 3.5 quarters of the game, Lagway had 10 completions for 156 yards. Pathetic.
---Florida's next 2 scores were 49 and 55 yard FGs by Trey Smack. Let that sink in. For 2.5 quarters, Florida was only able to score via cross-country FG kicks. So, yeah, give Trey Smack his flowers.
---At the beginning of the 4th quarter, the game was tied 13-13. First, LSU fumbled and gave a short field to Florida for its first of two 4th quarter TDs. And then, with less than 4 minutes left in the game, RB Jadan Baugh had a 55 yard touchdown run.

So, tell me again, what am I missing in the box score about DJ Lagway? Was it the 2 completions on the first TD drive (passing TD)? Was it the one completion on the second TD drive (rushing TD)? Or was it the one completion on the third TD drive (rushing TD)? It's just absolute bull**** that the "box score doesn't tell the story" about Lagway in the LSU game.

Ole **** game:

---10 completions for 180 yards. NEGATIVE 9 yards rushing (4 attempts). So that is 18 yards per completion.
---Lagway's TWO touchdown passes came in the second quarter, for 8 and 25 yards.
---Florida's next score was, you guessed it, a 53 yard FG by Trey Smack. Let that sink in.
---At the beginning of the 4th quarter, the game was tied 17-17. Lagway had one completion on this drive, otherwise Montrell Johnson was the entire offense.

So tell me again, what am I missing in the box score about DJ Lagway? Another game with exactly THREE offensive TDs. Was it the four completions on the first TD drive (passing TD)? Was it the two completions on the second TD drive (passing TD)? Or was it the one completion on the third TD drive (rushing TD)? That means Lagway had THREE completions for the rest of the game (not counting the three TD drives). Again, it's absolute bull**** that the "box score doesn't tell the story" about Lagway in the Ole **** game.

But, suuuure, Beck is an overrated QB who makes bad decisions who will have less talent at Miami (#1 offense in the country in 2024) than he had at Georgia (#1 dropped balls by WRs in the country in 2024)...

The **** you hear from Gator fans...

Beck is going to eat them up. He's thrown for over 650 yards and 4 TD's in the last two years against them.

Too many facts in this paragraph.

This is correct.

We spent all summer preparing for that game, thus we really struggled to win the next 8 games. Meanwhile, the Gators had to prepare for Samford the next week...
The gators also beat an LSU team that shouldn’t have been ranked and an Ole Miss team that was overrated as ****. Haven’t you heard? Only the second half of the season matters.

Also Lagway did nothing to win those games, therefore they would’ve won by even more impressive margins if he played better.

The secret sauce of the SEC. Rank 8 out of the Top 10 in preseason polls then talk about quality losses.

I spoke to my guy at UF that talked to Napier on Wednesday. He also said the injury was Minor and he actually expected Lagway to be a “regular” participant by the end of the week (this conversation was on Wednesday) - He said he isn’t worried about it because Lagway was in a boot last year and missed 1 game and came back to “beat LSU/OleMiss” (although I don’t think his 52% completion rate helped them much)

I also noticed he had a total of 0 rushing yards in those games (technically -9 yards against Ole Miss), OleMiss CHOKED that game away and Brian Kelly is Brian Kelly. If Lagway doesn’t return by Sunday questions will really need to be asked. Every day missed is massive for them. He can’t afford to miss any.

We will see if Lagway participates by end of this week
Lagway hurt his calf doing WIND SPRINTS. WIND SPRINTS. Lol @ he hurt himself “running.”

And they still have him in a noncontact jersey this week.
