Tears Gator Tears

David Zucker (the original director) absolutely blasted the new remake.

I just don’t see how you make a remake of it. It was unique for its time and unique in and of itself. Anyway, some remakes have worked, but usually they don’t. I don’t think this one will work unless they just do a completely different concept that’s original, and being funny is one of the hardest things there is. Because if you even miss just a little bit you fail.

It’s like being a gator in the NFL, destined for failure. Must be something in the water in hogtown - nobody puts more busts (both in numbers and on a percentage basis of their NFL players) in the NFL than the turds. It’s uncanny. Even the one guy that I thought was going do fairly well, Kyle Pitts, who’s a physical freak, has fallen flat on his face.

There’s a scene that had me belly laughing at the preview. The show the fathers up on the wall and it seems like their kids followed in their footsteps. Leslie was Liam’s dad. The fat cop had his son. And how did I manage to forget who the other prominent cop was. The look ok the sons face was priceless 🤣
