Actual evidence or a bunch of hearsay ?

I'm just asking. Why in the **** do we have so many Hurricane fans eager to white-knight for a racist Gator coach? And jump into a legal analysis of the word "hearsay" (which, contrary to uninformed opinion, is actually admissible in court if it falls under one of the exemptions or exceptions under Rules 801, 803, and 804).

Ron Roberts has made race-oriented statements. Florida fans have discussed these statements on their board for the past year. This is not about Miami fans trying to gin something up.

Again, people can try to act like they think they know what words like "evidence" and "hearsay" mean. This isn't a criminal trial. Whether people want to believe it or not, the best evidence is nearly the entire Gator coaching staff taking lateral (non-promotion) job opportunities and/or interviewing elsewhere. Do people think this is because Ron Roberts doesn't use deoderant?

There are times when a negative gets spread and becomes fact without any real basis. The racist remarks accusation isn't one of those. Neither is the one about him not wearing deodorant. He does wear deodorant; it just doesn't work in Gainesville.

Yes. And if Josh Gattis can be fired for yanking his crank in front of a female custodial worker, then Ron Roberts can be viewed as racist for yelling at a male custodial worker to "go back to Africa" (among other things).

But I'm sure we will soon have the "racism is a hoax" wing of CIS to tell us how Ron was just under a lot of pressure that day, and he is widely misunderstood.

Except for the fact that the only remaining 2024 defensive staffer in Hogtown is the Gator version of Randy Shannon (circa 2008) who played for the Gators and has spent nearly his entire career working for the Gators.

So the Gators had this amazing turnaround on defense in the second half of 2024, and then nearly everyone on staff is trying to take a lateral, non-promotion job change to anywhere-but-Hogtown....

Seems plausible...

Someone on here mentioned in another thread that Roberts had these issues come up at Auburn.

Maybe he will use the northerngator defense of “it wasn’t racist because I said it wasn’t, so sorry you think it is”

I have no issue with him being labeled a racist. It appears justified, which is what was asked.

Geez bro someone **** in your cornflakes or what. Went a wrote an entire article when you simply could have said no it's not proven but a lot of people seem to think so.

@TheOriginalCane has the best point on this issue of whether the UF coach is racist or made comments that are perceived as racist.

Why do we as UM fans care whether it’s true as long as it’s the perception.?! We don’t know Roberts, we don’t have any allegiance to him and certainly not to UF, and most notably, it’s the gator fans calling him racist not us. So let them burn down their own house and lets sit back and warm ourselves by the fire.

Again, you seen overly fixated on "proven".

It is very common, when someone is fired for things they have said that might be racist, sexist, or any other kind violation of respect and equal treatment, for an employer to "sweep things under the rug". You know, "not document it in the permanent record". Often, that is self-serving on the part of the employer, who does not want to look as if that kind of behavior is tolerated or overlooked.

People don't leave million-dollar jobs (which is approximately what an SEC coordinator job pays) because of how things "seem" or what they "think might have happened". If Austin Armstrong and others do everything they can to get away from working with Ron Roberts, I trust that they have some better reasons than a "rumor".

And trust me if it benefits Miami for Roberts to be **** canned for racist remarks then by all means, but I wanted to know if it was a certainty because lobbing allegations like that against someone is serious and would be bogus to attach to someone forever cuz you might be butthurt about other professional happenings.
