Into a corner?
He's going to have trouble convincing people he didn't have the resources he needed his entire career too, and he's never been regarded as a guy you brought in for scheme. He's not just getting shoved in a locker, the guy that's doing it is effectively the archetype for Napier's one path to success. This is the kind of situation he was trying to avoid I think. I’m sure he knew going in that their fans were brutal but I’m guessing he didn’t think they’d have a money issue - especially with NIL and what NIL would mean. Also, regardless of Corey Raymond, we saw it with Manny where hiring high level staff would be a challenge because he doesn’t have the track record/resume of others like Mario.
I’m not so certain he will. Even blue chip recruits want to win. When the momentum turns the way it has for them, that’s when we start hearing “Florida was always my dream school, but I’m going to play football at the university of Miami. Respect my decision.” I wouldn’t count on many of these commits to stick, because just like with al golden, they’ll be able to see what’s happening on the field.Raymond will land some mid to lower ranked “blue chip” recruits because of who he is but not even he can overcome working for Napier the Goober. He’s not landing the truly elite DBs
Literally a few days before Mario I believe. Maybe a week???He's going to have trouble convincing people he didn't have the resources he needed his entire career too, and he's never been regarded as a guy you brought in for scheme. Was Napier hired before or after Mario?
I wonder if he'd have hesitated to take the UF job had that order been reversed.Literally a few days before Mario I believe. Maybe a week???
Rebuild? What the f*ck has billy done to convince anyone he's rebuilding anything?
Well he's done a fairly good job with the tear down part so far.Rebuild? What the f*ck has billy done to convince anyone he's rebuilding anything?
Pretty sure Napier was the first hire before Mario, Riley or KelleyLiterally a few days before Mario I believe. Maybe a week???
Results on the field won’t help him. He’s not bringing in the talent he needs and he’s not a Mullen level OC. He really needed to knock it out of the park with recruiting which is why I yapped on here about how critical it was that the gator not get Rashada. I knew they had nothing else and it would kill them plus Rashada would’ve fixed their offensive recruiting problem. Literally the dude looks like a dead man walking and he hasn’t coached a game.I’m not so certain he will. Even blue chip recruits want to win. He lost those players Mullen had locked down because he wanted a letter explaining why they wanted to be gator plus a workout video - Evers and Gibson - right before ESD. Those guys would have been the 1st line of backups this year and he didn’t get anyone better.Well he's done a fairly good job with the tear down part so far.
I don’t know but I think if he knew that NIL would dominate and that their boosters wouldn’t step up above Miami and Tennessee, I would think that might change things for him.I wonder if he'd have hesitated to take the UF job had that order been reversed.

Such a rookie mistake trying to act like the smartest guy in the room and it’s going to destroy himHe lost those players Mullen had locked down because he wanted a letter explaining why they wanted to be gator plus a workout video - Evers and Gibson - right before ESD. Couple with the fact that he’s not even a gator alum, so this “what would being a gator mean to you” bs is especially egregiousSuch a rookie mistake trying to act like the smartest guy in the room and it’s going to destroy him
Totally overestimated the value of the gator brand along with his own resume.Such a rookie mistake trying to act like the smartest guy in the room and it’s going to destroy him
They wanted to get him before any one else did.Pretty sure Napier was the first hire before Mario, Riley or Kelley
