With this staff bs their staph, NIL is their best hope. They’re not doing it on merit anywhere with the exception of Corey Raymond.
Raymond will land some mid to lower ranked “blue chip” recruits because of who he is but not even he can overcome working for Napier the Goober. He’s not landing the truly elite DBs

Napier may not make it back to even the P5 Coordinator level like Golden when the Gators are done burning through him.
This is the kind of situation he was trying to avoid I think. I’m sure he knew going in that their fans were brutal but I’m guessing he didn’t think they’d have a money issue - especially with NIL and what NIL would mean. Also, regardless of Corey Raymond, we saw it with Manny where hiring high level staff would be a challenge because he doesn’t have the track record/resume of others like Mario.

You’re right. He’s not going to be able to save them on the level they planned. They’re not landing any of the 3 5 star CB’s they penciled in. Two are already committed elsewhere and now there’s Cormani in Lakeland and they apparently have a Lakeland problem.

He's going to have trouble convincing people he didn't have the resources he needed his entire career too, and he's never been regarded as a guy you brought in for scheme. He's not just getting shoved in a locker, the guy that's doing it is effectively the archetype for Napier's one path to success.

Was Napier hired before or after Mario?

I’m not so certain he will. Even blue chip recruits want to win. When the momentum turns the way it has for them, that’s when we start hearing “Florida was always my dream school, but I’m going to play football at the university of Miami. Respect my decision.” I wouldn’t count on many of these commits to stick, because just like with al golden, they’ll be able to see what’s happening on the field.

Literally a few days before Mario I believe. Maybe a week???
