The thing is, Que Nugget is not reporting on the current state of things in the recruitment. He is implying the decision has been made and won’t be changed by the OV to Miami.

Claiming it won’t change regardless which is bold (idiotic) when it comes to recruiting. Northern is the only one willing to call out how dumb that is.

But if Rashada is indeed ours, I think we’ve seen the last of Que Waffle Fries.

No offense, but this argument is ridiculous...and I do not have a dog in the fight

It's not ridiculous, it's reality. Whether you agree or not, that is what is happening, that is how Mario recruits (or doesn't recruit).

We've had a ton of stealth recruits come through the campus over the last few months, and it's stealth because many of them are committed elsewhere or are heavy leans. Months before Joseph decommitted, some of us were hearing about multiple stealth visits to UM.

But that's not the same as NOT recruiting a kid. And, sure, Kinsler probably called Mario and said "hey, I got an offer 14 months ago, the Gaytors are pushing me to commit, can I come down and meet with you?" and Mario said "sure, come down during Legends Camp", when a heavy focus will be placed on 2024 kids (and 2023 kids who didn't have any other time slots open).

Look, there are some porsters who need everything spelled out in great detail, and even then they will be stubborn. But step back and look at the big picture. Mario has been bringing in guys for OVs when he and the staff can give them individual attention. This isn't the old days, when we'd have 15 or 20 high priority recruits on OVs at the same time (and that is also DIFFERENT from the blue-chip camp held back in February, where Mario notably did NOT push for verbals).

And that's what brings this back to Gaytor Tears. The Gaytors are stuck analyzing things "the old way". If a kid has a UM offer or visit, "he's a high priority Miami target, the Canes really wanted him, the UM staff was surprised that he gave a verbal to Florida".

Nope.

Mario maintains communication, and sometimes even recruiting efforts, with kids to insure positivity, not because he wants to get a commitment from every kid. He wants even the non-UM recruits to be telling the world what we are doing, what a great place Miami is, how awesome our facilities and future plans and practices are.

I've got no problems with the Gaytors not understanding that. It's Gaytor ignorance that is a big driver of Gaytor Tears. It's just sad to see Miami fans who can't see the big picture, that we aren't really recruiting every kid who visits Miami.

Holy sheeeeit, this Northern vs. QueJay deal might be the Showdown Of All Showdowns.

@PIPO get in here!

It's purely semantics. An OV is a recruiting tool, so saying an OV is recruiting makes sense. If TOC wants to argue we're not actively recruiting him, I believe that as well and it's a fair but separate point. However they're just arguing semantics.

What they're not doing, is posting tears. And that's what we're here for.

where is the confidence on Rashada coming from on our end? Cribby and others have told us we weren't the best offer and the staff was tiring with how this recruitment was handled, why all the new optimism? Emory not committing this weekend?
Leeds has given us a new lease on life here plus he did push his announcement back as well?

Emory didnt commit, Rashada postponed his commitment and decided to take a final OV to Miami on the day he will now commit.
