Totally agree, these weren't Cane Corso's running out there. They were those mid grade mutts you can't identify other than to say dog. A hunting dog aint your average dog. I have an 80 pound Dutch Shepherd and I'd take him over a decent amount of people and I'm sure he'd work a raccoon but I'm not letting him out there. I personally don't need to see a racoon getting ****ed up and the last thing I'm willing to chance is the big flap of skin hanging off my dogs snout. I think racoons are pretty cool and I'd drink beer with one if he'd promise not to run off with mine.
My brother lives on about 10 acres north of Orlando and he's got Zebu cattle and a couple of Catahoulas to help him herd and whatnot. He gets bears and gators that come onto his property, and those Catahoulas are smart. They bark like **** and run around, but they never get close enough to get bit or clawed.
