I posted this screenshot on the board in the Rashada thread.

If we make the OV list that should send some shockwaves over there. Aside from their usual superiority complex, I’m assuming some substance - like our depth chart for one. There’s a Cane poster on that board saying we won’t pay over $1m+ per year for a guy to sit on the bench for 2 years.

So if we make the OV list - especially if they don’t - what does that say on multiple fronts to them concerning Billy vs Mario in recruiting and our NIL guys’ willingness to pay?

The core of this is so simple, and @RVACane has been on this for a while.

Nobody is picking the Gaytors because the offer is "close" or "competitive". If money is the key factor, and someone is going to waste 3-5 years in Hogtown, the Gaytor offer must EXCEED everyone else's offer.

Citizen knew that he could compete to be a starter at Miami, so he wanted to see if he could gat a GUARANTEE from the Gaytors. With an "equal or lesser" offer from the Gaytors, there's no way in **** Citizen was picking Florida.

Gaytor fans need to get used to this. They will get north Florida kids and Gaypier-Louisiana specials. But to land blue-chippers from outside a couple-hour radius around Hogtown, they are going to need to EXCEED all other offers, whether that's money or other promises.

Especially a Northern California kid who has to deal with distance and flight changes - this goes to accessibility on top of cultural change.

They don’t have a proven G5 offensive staff - or defensive for that matter beyond Raymond - this goes to track record of development.

So how do they overcome this… SEC SEC SEC, campus and game day atmosphere??? Lol. Their money better be tops at a minimum - and enough of a distance from bidder # 2 to justify the hassles, risks and less desirable location overall.

And his parents will have to do this 7x per year (more if you include SEC away games in hick towns):



Jaden Rashada said he was running on fumes after flying home Friday night from a visit to Florida, getting about an hour sleep and then flying in from Oakland earlier this morning. He sounded almost apologetic when talking about why he didn't take as many reps as some of the other quarterbacks but still looked very good in our eyes.

I read that quote too and had the same thought as you. Kid was hating the day after the trip. If anything it helped Oregon. Lol

The Steve Clarkson camp is prestigious and costly ($2,500). There's no way in **** that Rashada risked his participation in the camp and flew all that way for a 20 hour visit without getting an SEC duffel bag of cash for making an unofficial.
