At the end of the day he's going to live or die by doing things his way. There's a certain arrogance about him - he thinks his way works.

If you read any of the puff pieces put out about him when he was at UoLL, they spoke about how he's very process and detail oriented. Some (of his staff, admittedly) compared him favourably to Saban.

We'll see how it works out for him, but it's not going to be a quick turnaround regardless.

Sometimes coaches use "stars don't matter" to build an excuse on why they can't land them. They use that to get the fan base in a trap where they believe that stupid ****. It buys him time and if they look ok through two years his agent will get him that big entension. It's all political to get that bread....the guy knows he can't go against certain recruiters. He is going to go for the easy gets those are the coaches not willing to grind vs the grinders on the trail.

Maybe but with an $80 million contract Mario could care less about who gets the credit. He is richer than he could have ever imagined and coaching at his Alma mater. FYI, for all of us who believe John Wooden is the greatest college coach of all time, many still give primary credit to Sam Gilbert, the booster who took care of the UCLA players with money and cars. How did that do for Woden’s reputation?

The great thing about the Gators is that I think we all know the warning signs and red flags of impending doom when you hire a G5 guy or an unqualified guy. We see it but the beauty is that they can't see it yet.

Ya CFA has some sort of rule where they don't like to give people more than 1 location because they think that will make them give more attention to their CFA/give better service/etc. but they do give some people more than 1 occasionally. Most likely this guy didn't actually go through corporate and get it approved and just did it this way, if I had to guess. The guy is an absolute moron though, because he could have just went and got another franchise, that allows you to build your numbers. If his CFA is doing well, most other companies would love to have him take over one of their locations and then he could have made a **** of a lot more money than just owning 1 CFA and getting reimbursed in some form from 2 others.

It’s not really a G5 guy more of resume. There’s plenty of dudes with solids resumes in G5 but when it looks like you’re bringing in the “boys club” then you got to get curious and worried.
