I’m alive and well….the wife and I made it through the monster without much damage other than losing power…it’s going to be months from what I’ve seen before some places get power.I’m hoping ,but not expecting,to have power back by Gametime if not I’ll be making a road trip north to find a place this monster hasn’t totally destroyed..Anyone hear from @Cajuncane ?
Thank God. A relative of mine got out of NOLA before the storm. Pretty bad there I assume.I’m alive and well….the wife and I made it through the monster without much damage other than losing power…it’s going to be months from what I’ve seen before some places get power.I’m hoping ,but not expecting,to have power back by Gametime if not I’ll be making a road trip north to find a place this monster hasn’t totally destroyed..
Yea NO got slammed but not as bad as the coast.I’m on the north side of the lake so it had calmed down a little by the time it got to me.We had 100-110 mph winds for a couple hours and a bunch of rain but it wasn’t near as bad as the people on the shoutshore and the coastal areas.Thank God. Not in Baton Rouge so much cause that area is more commercialized but in the rural areas you can walk on the snakes and gators that come out of the marshes with the flooding..I mean in places like Baton Rouge, when a hurricane brings flooding, are neighborhoods having to deal with alligators in their streets?
So these portable AC units - you just hook em up once the generator is running? They don’t require any wiring in or piping?Yea NO got slammed but not as bad as the coast.I’m on the north side of the lake so it had calmed down a little by the time it got to me.We had 100-110 mph winds for a couple hours and a bunch of rain but it wasn’t near as bad as the people on the shoutshore and the coastal areas.
we are without electricity as I said above but I have a generator that runs my house except for the AC and I have portable AC’s so we are ok…
The main one I have is like 15-16000 btu.You put the vent in a window and pretty much turn it on…dump the water when the condensation builds up.I stick it in in the living room and some smaller ones in the bedrooms, close off the rooms not used and this thing will cool the house to whatever you set it at..So these portable AC units - you just hook em up once the generator is running? Good. I’m glad you have some things to make it more comfortable. The main one I have is like 15-16000 btu.You put the vent in a window and pretty much turn it on…dump the water when the condensation builds up.I stick it in in the living room and some smaller ones in the bedrooms, close off the rooms not used and this thing will cool the house to whatever you set it at..
