My point is, this is Lane. He knows what he's doing. All this "he's changed" talk is laughable. Things ended badly at Tenn, USC, Alabama, FAU, with the Raiders, and now Ole Miss.

But I agree with you overall.

This is just who he is. Someone (several someones) are going be ****ed off and butthurt at the end of all of this, possibly with very good reason. And it probably could’ve been avoided, but that’s just what he likes to do.

You're spot on. This is who he is and what he likes to do.

It was recruiting/scholarship related.

His exit from Tenn deserves a 30 for 30. Another example is he was recruiting multiple guys from the same school. After the **** hit the fan, he would ignore calls from one kid, but take them from another like 15 seconds later, knowing full well they were calling him together. He was trying to take one to USC and not the other. But come on.. lol.

Ole Miss shouldn't believe a word he says. Neither should LSU or UF tbh. I wouldn't exactly die of shock if he tells Ole Miss he's staying while also telling LSU/UF that he's signing, only to go AWOL, before finally being resurfacing again as he's signing a contract with LSU/UF.

Until proven otherwise I think he'll ***** 2 schools before its all said and done. He's that sketch.

Here’s another example, right above your post. He posts “come to the sip“ on X, which under normal circumstances with a normal human being would mean that he’s probably going to stay at Ole Miss, but in his case, it means absolutely nothing.

Yet he is giving hope to people at Ole Miss, making them think that he’s giving clues that he’s staying, but honestly, he could probably be going to LSU for all we know, and may have already decided. There comes a point where you don’t **** with people, but he will still do it anyway. Most levelheaded coaches in his situation would keep the trolling to a minimum. I mean, what does it accomplish?

**** like that X post makes me think he is leaving Ole Miss. That would be vintage Lane.

He is a bull****ter and he damages relationships, complete opposite of Mario with relationship type sh. I cant see him staying after dragging Ole Miss like he has. Great X and O guy thats it

He basically like a modern day female seeking approval and attention from strangers. Why post that? He just ******* with people like recruits do, and he ******* about recruits doing it and he does it as well lol. Dude is playing the hat game, hope he never wins a title as a HC.

But they will see it as a major failure if they don't get Lane now, especially since it's become a competition with LSU and Ole Miss.

I could not agree more.

Look at the way things ended at Tenn, USC, Alabama, and the Raiders.

USC left him at the airport at 3 a.m. and took his bags with them back to campus. How broken does the relationship between employee and employer have to be to strand someone at LAX?

Saban fired him. And although it has to be taken with a mountain sized grain of salt, when Al Davis fired him he said he was conned into hiring him to begin with.

He burns bridges.

TrumpyCane wanted Lane at Miami originally, but then you actually think about it and he'd be looking to leave within a few years

Mario has his faults but at least we know we'll be a solid stable program going forward, whether we get #6 with him is another question

Gotta think Lane has told the kids at OM he’s staying or else they’d be playing like crap most likely, kind of how Oregon started to tank once they figured out Mario was coming to UM and hadn’t committed to staying there.

I do think it says something to have a coach that bleeds the program and gives it stability, like the bowdens or beamers you dont really worry about them leaving. Is Mario even in the top 20 for highest paid coaches? I think he was around 16 or 17 to start the year but he was in front of guys like Cignetti and Elko who got huge bumps to stay, we dont really worry about that with Mario even though he could go to another school and make more.
