I honestly think Golesh is ultimately who they will end up with. They will kick the tires with Kiffin and Cignetti and ultimately be turned down. I think Golesh offense could work in the SEC BUT can he recruit at the big boy level? That’s the determining factor here in his success. Lack of recruiting effort is what is going to get Norvall fired eventually. If you can’t recruit..you won’t survive I don’t care what kind of offensive scheme you got.

I wouldn't have thought this until this week, but I actually believe Norvell will be gone by the end of this year and the reason is because he has been exposed. If ever a HC was going to be able to recruit enough for consistent success, it would be after going undefeated in the 3rd most significant conference AFTER winning 10 games the prior season.

On a related note, I'm all good with the classless Noles suffering for an extended period of time. If Mario stays with us for a while longer, we will have sustained success similar to what Jimbo had for a while.

I think he is too much like Billy….G5 coach with no other HC experience, offensive minded, cut his teeth in another SEC program…Gators fans would revolt

Just curious why you don't think Golesh would do well at UF...?

I agree with the original post. You see the look on his face after we beat his ***? I think he would crumble under the weight of that job, specifically the insane expectations.

The Gators think they are still handing over the program Meyer built, when in fact they are four dumpster fires removed from him. They're "Gators" in name only, and they do not have the money advantage anymore, now that the SEC invited the Texans into the conference to go alongside the Bama, AU, Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss, etc.

Not sure…there’s a lot of resistance to the idea of a G5 coach right now after SpongeBath Billy.

I honestly have no idea who it will be. Kiffin is the one that won’t surprise me, but I won’t be surprised if he stays at Ole Miss either.

I have a client that was a lawyer for their school from like 2006-2017 before he retired and he told me today that he (Billy) is gone during the bye week before the UGA game.

I asked if that was opinion or factual and he said “that’s coming from straight up top” and said the university will save a few million in his buy out if they do it then. (I haven’t looked into his contract to see if that’s the case)

But he also said that UF will be stuck in a rut for another 4-5 years. I’m not sure if he’s heard any names they might be interested in but he does not sound optimistic about their future
Sounds like my client will be getting his wish, although he knows that if Stricklin remains the AD then it doesn’t matter. He thinks if UF wins they SLIGHTLY delay it (aka not firing him the day after and will wait a few days), but he remains firm it’ll be during the bye week no matter what. Even after beating Texas they weren’t changing their stance.

(Talking about Stricklin) Apparently several head coaches @UF accross their sports department can’t stand him….some even considered straight up quitting

“Do you know how many teams Scott stricklin has been the coach of? ******* zero”

Doesn’t really seem to think Stricklin will go for Franklin but he knows his own job is on the line at this point

Really don't think it'll be Golesh. UF knows they need to get this one right. Kiffin, Franklin, Gruden, they're looking at everybody.

I don't know what they gain by firing him now. If FSU canned Norvell, at least they have Gus who can be interim HC. Who at UF could step in that isn't even worse than Billy?

If I'm the AD, Billy can keep getting his brains caved in until I've done all of my back channeling, planning, fundraising, etc in the background. I'm not firing him until I'm ready to make moves publicly out in the open.

I think I'd fire him the week before Thanksgiving, interim gets 1 game, exit interviews/clean house the Monday after FSU.

Heck they might be Georgia . I haven’t seen one thing about ga that’s impressive . Refs helped them vs Tennessee and last week . They should have 3 Ls . I have Gt beating Ga this year unless refs decide to help like they did last year for them
That is a HUGE unless.

With a helluva lot of money riding on it.

GT should already be in the Top 10.

tbh I think Florida is actually a decent team. They have a solid defense. It’s their offense that’s a mess. And really have a talented WRs and RB. Their OLine was terrible against us but had held up against other teams. It’s mostly been Lagway and Billy holding them back. There’s no reason for them to look as bad as they have.

The interim coach was supposed to be Jabbar Juluke...

But then he had to go and get suspended for slapping an LSU player.

So, now no one is sure of whom it will be. 🤣

He’s literally just running Josh Heupel’s offense so we know the scheme can work but is he going to get the caliber players that Heupel gets at UT? Billy had actually recruited OK. A decent coach might be able to come in and win at a reasonable level right off the bat.

…. They're "Gators" in name only….

I respectfully disagree.

They are not “gators“ in name only. You say this as if their name carries some weight. It doesn’t.

This is who they are. This is what they do.

They are a couple of successful years sandwiched inside a century of an underperforming suck-a-thon.

They are the undisputed champions of underperformance. They are clearly the most underperforming team in the history of college football.

That is their history. That is their legacy. That is their brand.

In the history of college football, no team has ever done less with more. The “flagship“ University in the most fertile recruiting ground in the country and they have been falling flat on their faces for 100 years. Look at when they won their first SEC championship. Look at when they first won their first national championship. It’s pathetic.

They will continue on this path of failure for our entire lifetime. Why? Because this is what they do. This is who they are. It will not matter who they hire as their next coach. He will fail.

The gator brand is failure, and it always will be.
