Tears Gator Tears

***** it, no need to hold it in lol….play calling be darned, 2 played bad. My homie and I even said after last week win that it LIU knew our tendacies but didn’t have the talent to match up with us. We even mused that #17 looked better than 2 and is probably a better FIT for this “offense” since we believe 2 is more of an Air Raid QB, not some strategic Tom Brady pre 2007 QB.

I love ya, man, but Slingblade Billy is only going to give Trammel serious burn once Lagway is in a wheelchair.

I'm not talking in absolute facts. I'm saying what I'm saying because the Gators DENIED that the injuries and the missed practice time would be a factor.

How MUCH of a factor is anyone's guess. That's a fair discussion.

We are beginning to get a "merger" of sorts, between the injuries/missed practice time and the poor coaching/playcalling. You mix all that together and I could definitely see a loss of confidence and some mental errors entering into the discussion.

But by no means do I think all of Lagway's problems are "mental". Or unfixable. But perception will soon become reality if the kid doesn't heal, can't practice, and has to deal with all of Slingblade Billy's bull**** during the games.

As for your last sentence, this is pretty much what we were saying last year too. You've got the fastest WR on the field (Eugene Wilson) and they keep running bubble screens and short passes to him. This is why I argue that the problems are bigger than ONE GUY having "mental" lapses. Slingblade Billy is literally using ALL the pieces of the offense incorrectly, and he is wasting MULTIPLE players' talents:

---Lagway playing hurt and then being asked to do stuff that he can't currently do with his injuries and zero practice time.
---WRs who could stretch the field are being fed bubble screens for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
---Any RB who gets into a groove (particularly Jadan Baugh) are suddenly put into a deep freeze.
---Do the TEs even play? Are they even used in pass patterns? It certainly doesn't look like it.

I can agree with some of your analysis, but this goes beyond Lagway.
If I recall, the knock on Miami and Carson beck was that he was injured and missed practice time. The media made it out that a two year starter will struggle because of that missed practice time. Then in the next breath they have been climbing over each other to declare that lagway, who missed as much practice time, is headed to New York for his heisman

Yes.

Though I'd point out that the less-experienced QB (Lagway) actually missed MORE practice time than the experienced QB (Beck).

I don't think it is "one factor" with Lagway. But that kid is in the Perfect (****)Storm of bad factors, all of which are destroying his on-field play AND/OR confidence AND/OR decision-making.

If they NCAA had a Child Protective Services division, they would remove DJ Lagway from Slingblade Billy's custody.

That's fair and you made great points. I'll be 100% honest and man enough to say that.... due to my absolute hate for that team in gaysville, I am in no position to give a totally fair assessment of any of their players. I want all of them to suck and fail so yeah, I'm definitely typing with biasness. If Lagway ever transfers out, we will revisit this on more fair grounds. But yeah, I do agree with majority of what you just said.

Not to stop the tears but i could honestly see them going 2-2 in those next 4 games. Its just what they do. They suck, then they give their fans hope and then they suck again. Losing to lsu and us. Beating shady manning and a&m. Watch
Yeah. God knows I hate to give them credit for literally anything, but this is exactly what they do. They look like a 3 win team every year and somehow manage a few wins we didn't see coming. By the end of the season, people think they're a good team with a tough schedule. They're terrible in the best way, but I wouldn't write them off completely. They'll probably beat lsu and manage a win against Kentucky for once. And they'll beat at least one of these legit teams on the schedule too. In the end, they'll be a 7+ win team somehow. The good news is that leaves them pumping billy up again for a great season next year.

Time to sit back, watch the mess unfold, and make sure we're not one of their head-scratching wins.

Oh.. I thought you were gonna come up with some craziness like usf is the best team in Florida. lol I wanted you to keep your status as a welcomed type dude. Lagway for sure needs to play better or it's going to be a very long season for you guys.

Responding to that last paragraph.... How are you so sure that he's missing throws due to injuries and lack of meaningful practice time and not due to a lack of talent??? He has shown nothing different from last year so was he hurt all last yr as well??? It's very possible dude just don't have it like y'all think he do. He wouldn't be the first QB to have an amazing HS career and flame out in College.

Now one thing I would say is that I don't think the gaytes offense is the right offense for his type of style. But still, the throws he missed and the mistakes he has made has been str8 up mental mistakes. Like that last int against usf. That had zero to due with being injured or lacking practice time.
Because I saw him throwing in his first Spring (2024), prior to these injuries, and compared to now, his throwing motion is completely different. He looked like he had a ton of promise then, given the right coaching and development. I said all this back then too. You can go back and check my posts.

Just adding that a HUGE reason why they are only running bubble screens and short passes to the WRs is because LAGWAY HAS A BUM SHOULDER.

Watch his throwing motion in the USF game when he tries to throw beyond five, eight, ten yards. Then compare to the way he threw last year.

Yes, Billy is a horribly uncreative playcaller. But his QB is good for nothing more than handing it off or little dinks and dunks. They are screwed.
