They are not recruiting any better than Mullen did. Not sure where he doing a good job comes from lol. They getting bodied for players by UCF, SC and all manner of teams. I don't even know uf they are better than FSU, who been bodying them head to head and Norvell sucks ***

From my perspective, and I believe objectively, he’s not doing a good job recruiting, so he’s not doing a good job at all.

I don’t know where you get the idea that he’s doing a good job - if you could point to something specific, that might be helpful.

I’ll point to this: as was mentioned in another post, and as we all know, he blew up his recruiting class when he came in for absolutely no reason. Being a good coach is about making good decisions, and he’s made some horrible ones, including that.

UF recruits itself. it isnt hard to get a top 20 class at UF. Napier is getting ****ted on

And based on Napiers rep on the trail at Clemson and Bama I know he’ll get some good talent up there ..lol like I said I don’t want to fall in the same trap I did before. You weren’t reading this thread or you don’t have a good memory then. He required guys who were committed and good players to send a video explaining why they wanted to be gators along with new workouts on them in order to keep their offers upon his approval - right before signing day. It cost him Evers, Gibson and 2 other of his better commits right off the bat and he didn’t replace them with anyone better.

Classic amateur overvaluation of the strength of himself and his staff - mainly their resume - along with the gator brand. It was negligent

But I don’t put him in the G5 category of guys who had success at that level then got bigger gigs..he was at Clemson for that turn around (fell out with Dabo on personal **** rumor is) then was on staff at Bama, so that operation up close & was a ace recruiter there..took that to the G5 level and dominated..I think he knows what he’s doing…but like I said **** em

There’s levels to this. Napier was supposed to be a bigtime hire. The Tom Hermann and Scott Frost of last season’s coaching hires. But he’s not even them. So maybe he’s not Al Golden bad. But I won’t even concede that.

Either way, he’s not a Top 20 coach and I’ll be shocked if his class ends in the Top 15 unless he has a class of 35 kids. That class average is only going down from here on out.
 
Here’s the thing: EVERY coach has silents on deck. They’re always trying to manipulate perception and make bad news disappear.

So now with that said, look at where some of UF’s commits are from:

Wilson: Tampa
Webb: Jacksonville
Nixon: St. Pete
Denson: Jacksonville (double legacy)
Hill: GAINESVILLE
Harris: St. Lucie by way of IMG
Stokes: Ponte Vedra Beach
Whittemore: GAINESVILLE
Lovett: Rockledge
Patterson: Eustis

Nine of their eleven commits are all gator country layups. Where are the other two from, might you ask? Georgia.

They have announced all their layups, picked all their low-hanging fruit. All in an effort to save face in recruiting.

Billy blew his load and may get a couple more nice pieces, but now he’s got to fight for real blue chips.

Can’t blame Mullen. Mario took over Diaz and pulled a 65th ranked team into a top 15 team within 90 days. Napier will never be on Mario’s level.

Napiers reputation?? I follow CFB real close and never heard of him having a good reputation.

Only time I heard of him was when he was at ULL And that’s it.

Ohh and he’s managed to **** off Polk county in 6 months… where a majority of gator targets are locks.
