Tears Gator Tears

2021:
Marco Wilson - 4th round - as a rookie, 13 starts, 2 passed defensed
Shawn Davis - 5th round - as a rookie, he was waived from the team that drafted him, and released from the practice squad; he signed to another practice squad and played in one game in December

2020:
CJ Henderson - 1st round - #9 overall pick, given a 4-year fully-guaranteed contract, traded away a year later for a 5th round pick and a 3rd round pick

2019:
CJ Gardner-Johnson - 4th round - sucker-punched by multiple teammates AND opponents

2018:
Duke Dawson - 2nd round - did not appear in a single game for the team who drafted him, and was traded one year later for a 6th round pick; out of football; total career interceptions - zero-point-zero
Marcell Harris - 6th round - biggest play of rookie season was a late hit on Mitchell Trubisky; waived after a year; has caught on with the 49ers, but has been converted to linebacker

2017:
Marcus Maye - 2nd round - did OK for the J-E-T-S-Jets-Jets-Jets, but several injuries; did make it to a second contract, but with the Saints
Quincy Wilson - 2nd round - even though a starting spot opened up when PBJ P-Rob left in free agency, coaching great Chuck Pagano put the rook at 3rd on the depth chart, and later healthy-scratched Wilson multiple times; after three years, traded to the J-E-T-S for the last (non-comp) pick of the 6th round, and was waived in-season; practice squad player for the Giants; reserve/future contract with the Phins
Teeeezzzz Tabor - 2nd round - cut by the team that drafted him after 2 years; practice squad ever since

2016:
Vernon Hargreaves - 1st round - even though the team that drafted him exercised the 5th year option, he was cut mid-season in his 4th year; has not done much with two successive teams; most famous play is running onto the field during Super Bowl LVI, despite being in active for the game
Keanu Neal - 1st round - in fairness, he made one Pro Bowl and got a 5th year rookie contract extension; he then had season-ending injuries in back-to-back seasons; got to a (one-year) second contract with a new team, and was switched to linebacker; highlight of his career was ending the career of fellow Gaytor Jordan Reed on a helmet-to-helmet hit

2014:
Jaylen Watkins - 4th round - released by the team that drafted him after one year; largely practice squad since

2013:
Matt Elam - 1st round - decent first year, terrible thereafter, drafting team did not pick up his 5th year and let him waslk after he was arrested; has played in Canada, XFL, and the IFL since then
Josh Evans - 6th round - played 3 seasons for the team that drafted him, cut before 4th season; last played in the AAF

2011:
Ahmad Black - 5th round - cut midway through his third season with the team that drafted him, did not play again

Gators were convinced AJ Harris was all theirs, now seems Georgia is making a move and may be the leader now

Oh, it's even worse than that.

Gaytor Insider "QueJay" was dropping his rancid nuggets about how AJ Harris was a silent commit to the Gaytors.

This is gonna be me enjoying the Gaytors' heartbreak:

And if they go somewhere else, they "weren't a take".

So let me understand...

The Gaytors can't seem to recruit actual Florida kids, so they target kids from poor New Jersey who are living on their own a long way from home, because they will be easier targets and don't have any pre-conceived notions about how bad the Gaytors are?

Sounds like Gaytor Grooming to me...

I also wouldn't use the term "if they wanted it" in a sentence talking about UiF and teenagers...

Gotta put the original Halloween in there too. Very few people actually killed. Multiple "hand-from-the-grave" false-ending resurrections of a seemingly-dead Michael Myers. Best music.
That was 1979 I think? It was a slasher movie but supernatural-ish I guess.

Haden - 2010
Jenkins - who? you mean the linebacker Jelani Jenkins?
Sheppard - 2002
Nelson - 2007
Maye - 2017, fair
Gardner-Johnson - 2019, fair

I'm not saying that Miami has lit the world on fire at this position either, but you've got 5 guys with solid careers, only 2 of whom have been drafted in the last dozen years.

Janoris Jenkins

Per Fan Duel, gators open as a 2.5 point favorite at home over Utah in the opener.

Take the Utes?

I don’t know how Utah is looking for this year, but based on recent history, this is a game the turds could easily lose, even if it is a home game.

Utah is 24-9 over the last three years, I realize that’s in the PAC12, but still, they’re not a pushover

****, man, he graduated from North Alabama, not Florida. Can Miami have credit for Gus Edwards, he was at UM for 4 years and Rotgers for 1 year?

I know, I know, I remember his history, he was at Florida for 3 years, yada yada yada. But you guys did kick him off the team. I'm giving the credit to Terry Bowden for redeeming this wayward lost soul...

Returning 17 starters from last year. Offense will be very good.

Not to mention some who had solid to great college careers who didn’t sniff or pan out regardless of their draft position:

Purifoy (in 2012, he had the JUICE lol)
Marcus Roberson (see Purifoy)
Fred Weary
Lawrence Wright
Todd Johnson
Marquand Manuel (he was “ok”)
Dee Webb
Josh Evans (he actually “overachieved”)

These guys were 4th rounders or later (or even undrafted) so while expectations were low or nonexistent, you’d think SOMEBODY would perform well above their draft slot, no?

Knew Todd Johnson's wife in college. She was very easy on the eyes

I saw a documentary on the making of Halloween. They had zero budget and at the time nobody cared about horror movies. John Carpenter was a master.

Although I am a sucker for slasher flicks. Even the terrible ones. I've seen every Friday the 13th and would run to the theater to see a new one if they ever make another. Even though I know it would be terrible.

I've seen them all, but usually on video, not in the theaters. I have very high standards for horror movies. I feel like later Halloween/Friday-the-13th/Nightmare movies were just formulaic and repetitive. It's very hard to make a great horror movie past the first one, as you really lose the element of surprise.

Not sure if you saw the History of Horror series with Eli Roth on AMC. Eli did a great job of breaking down different genres and elements of horror movies, and what buttons they push.
