Gametime Weather

Not sure how long weather takes to get from La. To S.Carolina but all **** is supposed to break loose here as regards to the weather about 3 am…it’s supposed to get worse as the sun comes up.

If this is the weather that is heading there it won’t be pretty unless it breaks up cause they’ve been warning about 5-8 inches of rain in areas here for a couple days here warning about flash flooding. I’m hoping this isn’t what’s headed that way but I’m afraid it is..

The rain signal around kickoff has strengthened, particularly for heavier bursts.
The latest National Weather Service Clemson forecast now has showers becoming likely with possible thunderstorms after 5 PM Saturday, followed by showers and possibly a thunderstorm Saturday night with a 90% precipitation probability. NWS expects 0.10–0.25 inch before nightfall, with locally higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

More importantly for the 7:30 PM kickoff, fresh hourly guidance now projects roughly 71% rain at 7 PM, increasing to 85% at 8 PM, with the 8 PM period specifically modeled as moderate/heavy rain at about 0.10 inch in that hour. It then falls back toward lighter rain at 9–11 PM. Winds remain modest—roughly 2–9 mph—so wind still isn't the concern.

That's meaningfully wetter than the previous ~0.05"/hr game-time guidance. Clemson's drainage should still cope well with ordinary rain, but a heavier shower/thunderstorm right around kickoff now looks more plausible, making a slick ball/field—and potentially a lightning delay—the main things to watch.

My weather apps show percentage and amount going down. Started the day at .5" and 90% to .35" and 85%. Not much of a change, but it is in the right direction.
