Go Canes!

My question continues to be: WHO IS IN CHARGE OF CALLING THESE LIGHTNING DELAYS?

There's no doubt in my mind that the second lightning delay in the Bama-FSU game was done with the intent of slowing FSU's offense down. They were steamrolling Bama at that point.

Lightning delays always seem to favor the home team.

I fully expect to see at least one lightning delay this Saturday. The pregame ones are bad, but mid-game delays are the worst.
The officials need to stop play early enough to allow ample time for 90,000+ fans to take cover. That’s why you often see games being paused when it’s not even raining or where the closest lighting strike is 10 miles away.

Frustrating but understandable.

It’s absolutely not. Has anyone ever been struck by lightning at a football game? Ever? This **** is beyond ridiculous.

I've never seen this place so concerned about rain before. We got this.
Unless it is a monsoon, I think Herm Edwards once said rain gives the advantage to the offense because the receivers know where they are going but the dbacks uncertainty makes a wet surface a greater liability.
All true- applies equally…. But take it a level deeper as far as how this could affect us particularly—

Baby Jezuz relies on multiple, sharp and very crisp cuts to abuse DBs…

He may not be able to use his A game…
It’s like the difference driving in rain versus driving in heavy snow….
You plow a bit when driving in snow whereas rain is just an inconvenience

To answer your question…yes. There was a Columbus football player who was struck and killed during practice. There are other examples across the country.

It’s frustrating and incredibly conservative, but not “absolutely ridiculous.” Clearly, you haven’t been impacted by a lightening strike.

I’m actually really surprised this isn’t being talked about more. The chance for rain and even thunderstorms continues to increase. This could make it a ground and pound type game and neutralize our passing attack a bit
Right at game time too man

If we are only dominant because of one player, we have a problem.

Move the gametime up. I like attending night games. I prefer earlier starts when I'm not actually there.

Its thanks to the legal world man.... I cant speak to every state but in Florida if you are playing ball at a park and they have a lighting detection system and said system fails, or isnt regularly calibrated, you are legit liable for someone getting the most stereotypical act of god, struck by lighting.

In certain places, such as stadiums, it would be negligent to NOT even have the system. That is not the case for your backyard neighborhood park, if they dont have a system and someone is struck by lightning, all good. If they do and its not regularly calibrated, liable. So these stadiums are essentially required to put in the lightning system and once that buzzer goes off if they put them on the field a second early and something happens, they are on the hook. Not that I am disagreeing with you that it is ridiculous, but there is a reason. So blame should likely be towards greedy plaintiff attorneys, dumb insurance companies and dumb juries that will pay someone if they were struck by lightning standing on someone else's property.

Its not for our safety, its for corporate greed.

They made it a law like 10 years ago or so.. Its like 30 minutes for a lightning strike 10 miles away..

It favors home team because away team has only a cramped away locker room to retreat to, home team has the whole facility to spread out relax, replenish, etc.

Look at the numbers— it’s undeniable how integral and how far above anyone else Mali is….
You don’t buy a Porsche to look cool in the driveway—
Until someone or something takes him away he is just generationally great and you’d be crazy not to throw to a wide open baby Jezuz
