G5 Representative in the College Football Playoff is the equivalent to ___

I think you can circumvent that by having a play-in game and calling it a playoff.

Is that what Notre Dame is doing with the agreement to get a guaranteed automatic spot if ranked in the top 12 starting next year?

It’s so ridiculous when you get these lawyers involved especially because they are an independent. If enough people say **** You to Notre Dame, eventually they will have to join a conference.

They are lucky that ACC allows them to be a member so that they can have their other sports participate. Otherwise, they would be forced to join a conference.
Not sure how this addresses G5 situation. They’re legally assured of at least one spot.

Ole Miss and Oregon are the winners here. They won’t have a long layoff like the top 4. However it will be a walkover. They get some live reps, game prep and the opportunity to not get rusty.

DEI - It’s a hard fact!!

College football having some G5 team be part of this playoff and taking an automatic spot is ludicrous.

UCF and Cincinnati had a good run a few years ago but using them as “We must include a G5 team” is the college football equivalent of DEI.

Only a real solid, undefeated G5 team that has a solid resume should only be considered on that merit for the playoff.

P4 teams shouldn’t be losing a spot to a G5 unless they are some kind of special team that EARNS it on the field. Not just award a spot to include them.
mierda gigantesca, meng.
