FWIW (Jacurri)

Oh boy. Using the transitive property is a great way to win an argument.

GT was a vastly improved team this year.

As for your question about Jacurri, he started BECAUSE TVD WAS INJURED, Garcia was beyond atrocious, and they wanted to see what they had in Jacurri. What they AND JACURRI saw was enough for Jacurri to even say he wanted a redshirt year this year b/c his passing was so abhorrent.

Is Emory better?

Per Gabby, Lou Cristobal is declaring for the NFL...he put together spectacular film on the Scout Team and is being compared to Jason Kelce. Per Gabby, he is being referred as "Lou Kelce" and/or "Jason Cristobal"
Pretty sure Gaby said Lou Cristobal is declaring due to his scout film but there's a chance he could return because he likes playing for Mario and that he could see it going either way, plus there's always the portal but that's unlikely because of his relationship with Mario but yeah the NFL is likely but we'll see.

He’s the best we’ve got so I hope he plays but I keep hearing that he had a good game against GTech… no he didn’t.

Go back and watch the game. Timing and ball placement were not good. On the passes he completed, receivers were inexplicably wide open and his runs were on a spread open field. Wait till our Bowl opponent stacks the line and dares him to throw.

BTW, Emery was not good against Clemson either. They are both bad and need a ton of work.

Miami gonna have to wire JB a few racks to stay for bowl game. It was cheaper than TVDs one game going rate 🤣

“Listen kid we know we pushed you out but we don’t have another QB, how’s 20K sound to play in bowl game?”

No, but life is not black/white. QB play was clearly improved and Emory did well given the circumstances and was protected like a young QB should given the circumstances.

Plus, there was never a plan to play Brown. He asked for a redshirt, this has been said multiple times over the past months and people continue to ignore it.

Much like many things in life, just like my man @Rellyrell and his taste for women, it was average. Meat was clearly left on the table, but to say it was bad and set up for failure isn't accurate given the data and the tape.

How bout u pause, instead.

Nothing would surprise me.

🤷‍♂️

Jacurri beat GT last year in Atlanta with the worst OC in UM history calling plays and a bad WR group, subpar OL room, and less talent at RB. But we lost to GT this year (at home) with a supposedly better team. If Jacurri is so bad, does that mean GT closed the gap on us this year?

And if Jacurri is so terrible, why did we start him last season? Did we not develop him adequately? And if he can't complete a forward pass, why didn't we bring in a backup QB that could? Wasn't the staff claiming he looked great in practice all spring (until the spring game where he couldn't throw for ****)? Did we not evaluate our own QB properly?

But you are right that it's not a conspiracy. It's more likely just incompetence.
Yes GT is much better this year. They have 1,178 more passing yards, 16 more passing tds with only 7 more ints. In addition, they had 750 more rushing yards and 9 more rushing tds. They improved their ACC and overall record by a game, so 2023 GT is a better football team than in 2022. Last year we had injuries, so we had to play back ups. Jake G didn’t look good, so they had to play JB. Unfortunately, he didn’t look good against FSU and Clemson. What is your point cause Jacurri hasn’t done anything yet to call his lack of playing time a “conspiracy”

It appears you have missed my point. I was not arguing A=C (or even A>C). That should have been clear from the last two sentences.

But, in your defense of your position, you have made mine pretty clear. If Jacurri was "so abhorrent" that the staff knew he'd be redshirting all of 2023 and would not play even a single snap, why didn't they bring in a capable backup? Seems pretty negligent to go into the start of the season with one QB coming off injury, a sophomore QB you will not play at all, and a TF QB.

We had no choice last year but to start Brown because the QB room was in shambles behind an injured TVD and "beyond atrocious" Garcia. We had no choice but to start Williams this year because the QB room was in shambles behind an injured TVD. That is mismanagement of the QB room.

Go back and read my last two sentences again.

They were tight on numbers, spent $1M in NIL on TVD who was the unquestioned starter, and I'm sure it wouldn't have been an easy sell to a transfer QB to come to Miami and ride the pine unless TVD gets pulverized like 2022.

If your argument is the QB room was a disappointment and not well managed, I am 💯 in agreement. If your argument the JB did something to warrant playing time, then I question that because I have not seen anything that warrants his playing (outside of a short yardage/goal line package, which we could only use for 4 games to keep his RS).

Go back and read my last two sentences

Williams was getting a lot of hype from several on this site coming out of fall camp and during the season. May have contributed to the JB redshirt decision. Regardless, not having a #3 besides JB was not an optimal decision.

All far, but I'd argue that is even more evidence of mismanagement.

Garcia was bad and in the portal. They seen Brown play in multiple games as a TF. And they had no real notion of how Williams would look in their system until they'd get eyes on him in the Spring. By the end of fall camp, they'd also apparently decided to RS Brown for the season, without bringing in another QB in the December/January or May portal period.

I can't imagine they planned it that way from the jump. So either they failed to evaluate the QBs on the roster, failed to develop the QBs on the roster, or failed to recruit another QB onto the roster. Either way, it was a pretty big fail.

Bro....I made all that **** up! Sorry you had to wrap your brain around it to make it make sense to you. I feel like I owe you a drink....on second thought, you owe me a drink for responding to you and for you believing that garbage.

I had to respond to you to make you aware that.......I made that entire bull**** story about Lou Cristobal. It was satire. Please forgive me and thank you for making me feel that my posts matter and could be presented as truth. GO CANES

Your sarcasm meter is broken. I used your obvious joke to mock Gaby's habit of not being able to give a single take without being all over the map with his predictions.

It's the former. We agree (also on the parenthetical).
