Stop it. Spurrier, as much as I hate him/it, raised UF to Miami (and FSU)'s level. Look at where UF was as a program before he got there. Tulane had more SEC titles than UF did.

Wouldn'te the best move on his part. UF is a more “prestigious” job but everything you need to win big is within reach at VT and 9-10 win seasons is all you need to keep them happy.

An overall historical record of .677, and .577 record against conference foes, and three championships because of two coaches rose those numbers up doesn’t make you a top tier program, it puts you in the same realm as Tennessee under Doug ****ey and Phillip Fulmer with Johnnie Majors in between...the same place you say isn’t a better job than Florida. An 80.5 % winning percentage from 1979 to 2005(like we have) are what blue blood programs look like and 16 national championships from USC and Bama are what blue blood programs do

Mostly because we didnt really have a real football program until the late 70's early 80's, which we dominated the 80's until we went on probation in the 90's, rebuilt into the greatest team of all time in 2001, Then had the scandal and 3 of the worst coaches in UM history back to back. You cant compare our mediocrity with UF's. Ours was mostly brought on by probation and sanctions, not by being a terrible football program.

Fuentes has stated that he doesn't want to coach in the SEC – he hinted at the corruption in recruiting.

He's a perfect fit for VT. I could see him being there for a while. It will be nice to have the Miami VT rivalry back to where it used to be.

Spurrier was a **** of a coach. He took Florida from an SEC also-ran to perennial national title contender.
