Florida isn’t any type of blue blood program. You take out Urban Meyer and they’re a perennial 9 win team, I would take UT or the Nebraska job before I took the UF job.

That's because we all hate UF. Bear Bryant called Florida a sleeping giant [in the SEC]? Why? Because of the all the talent in the state. The funny thing is FSU and Florida have won 6 national titles and all but one of the them was won when Miami was in a down period. That being said even when Miami locks down South Florida Florida can win the SEC with a competent coach. Spurrier proved that. Fuentes can win at Florida. Doubt he takes the job. He is set at Virginia Tech unless Florida just drops a Brinks truck. I'm not sure he is a legitimate candidate. The SEC loves to hire dudes with SEC experience under their belt. For Florida, Urban Meyer was outside the norm. Who knows but I doubt the Fuentes discussion is nothing more than blog talk? Let's hope Florida hires another disaster.

And Muschump and McEltoof won 3 division championships....if I put those next to their records it looks more impressive too.

Again, I’m not taking a shot at the Ole’ Ball coach, I’m just stating the truth.

In 12 years, Spurrier failed to win 10 games only 3 times.

Muschamp went 7-6 twice and 4-8 once.

McElwain won the division with a record identical to Spurrier's worst season.

And how does this make me wrong? Did you see the original post? I said scratch out Urban Meyer and they win 9 games practically every year and you guys come back with “Well Spurrier won less than 10 games three times” and I say he only went over 10 3 times as well.

Idk why he would leave VT right now
He's got the best defensive coordinator in the nation and mild expectations in Blacksburg.

Go to Florida and lose to bama twice and get fired

If you frame it this way ^^^^ It looks more impressive

Apparently zbrod thinks 10-win seasons are poo.

Ten wins doesn’t make you a championship program...national championships do

You were poo-pooing 10-win seasons and saying that even Muschamp and McElwain won the division before (although Muschamp lost the tiebreaker with Georgia and didn't go to SEC Championship game).

So you said they're a 9-win program even though Spurrier averaged 10.

You're on crack. Stop with the hate. Players wins games. Nebraska and Tennessee cannot recruit the players Florida can. And I hate the lizards but seriously be real. Nebraska. Smh lol middle of nowhere.

I know we all hate UF but nobody in their right mind thinks Neb or UT is a better gig. That's comical , especially Neb.

Just playing your game... IF UFelony offered Fuente the job, he'd be an idiot not to jump at that over VT in a heartbeat. He can double his salary going to Turdville.

Frankly, I think he's a better fit at Vag Tech, and my choice would be to get him out of our division. He could be a thorn in our side there for 20 years if he likes it in Deliverance country. He could succeed at UFag, but that program is badly broken, and he could just as easily get run out of town in 2-3 years.

This is why guys don't necessarily jump at a salary the way the unemployed mopes around here would.

WOW, take NEB is a veritable desert for recruiting, take UT in a demonstrably middling recruiting area over one of the Big 3 in the state with the greatest football talent. Makes perfect sense.

Because they are if you remove Urban Meyer’s record there lol. 9 years of 9-10 win records out of 12 when you were covered and mediocrity before doesn’t make you a championship program

Finally some are stating the obvious. UF is a far better job than Tennessee or Nebraska. It does have its downside - their fans and the whole toxic fan environment of the SEC can turn off some coaches, but their problems have been just like ours - they've made bad coaching hires.

It's not even close. UF will be the best job on the market this offseason.

UF is a top ten job , plus you have access to great talent . Great talent that can murder and rape with no threat of getting arrested.

Virginia is not Deliverance country.

It seems a lot of you have forgotten the FBI investigation with 10 current ball players on it and the lack of discipline shown by UF when they knew how severe the charges were...do you really think the NCAA is going to ignore that?
