LOL, that's what I was trying to say. I guess saying it's clearly forward is the same as saying it clearly wasn't backwards.

Had the first pass been dropped, they would have whistled the play dead on an incomplete pass.

Yes. He caught it. Squeezed it, tip of ball hit ground after he secured, but ball didn’t move at all.

Scoring would have given FSU a chance to tie the game. We score a TD and make the Xpt it is now an 8 pt lead and FSU can tie it with a TD and a 2 pt conversion.

Running the clock out gave FSU zero chance to come back.

This. As much as I would have preferred an 8 point win to a 1 point win, you have to make coaching decisions based on priority and priority was not giving FSU a chance to possibly tie the game back up. Especially with Miami's shaky kick coverage teams, there's at least a small chance that FSU could have housed the ensuing kick return and been a 2 point conversion away from tying the game.

and had a Miami player jumped on it, FSU would be whining that it was a forward pass. They're determined to ***** and moan either way, it's just their style.

Getting to take a knee was more satisfying to me, because they were only down by a single point and couldn't do a **** thing about it.

Oh, and Homer was a grown man on that run to get the first, I thought the guy was gonna trip him up, reminded me of Berrios getting the first LY when the guy tripped him.

The ACC clarification should be "WiLLLie, if you want to run that play, tell your WR to drop back further before he sets his feet and prepares to catch the backward pass from the QB. If your WR does that, the refs will have enough clarity not to throw a flag on your trick play. We hope that clarifies your question, as it is a non-reviewable visual call that refs have to make every time you want to run that play."

Both qb and receiver are on the 45.receiver needed to be behind qb to throw a forward pass.

On Warchant, they got 8 separate threads talking about it.

Since having kickers that choke are no longer in style, FSU, along with their Turnover Purse has now upgraded their excuse attire; 'It's da refs mang!'

I don't want to hear it from them. We were screwed out of two national titles because of horrendous calls.
 
Bianchi on the radio here in Orlando says this is proof the ACC refs wanted Miami to win because it would be good for the ACC.

I wanted to call in and ask if that was true, why was the horse collar penalty picked up? Why was the Homer pass called incomplete? Why wasn't the punt return reviewed? Why weren't there more holding calls on the number one TFL defense in the nation?
 
.In my many years of watching football I usually see the WRs take a step back PRIOR to the pass. F$U's WR took a step back after the pass to make it look close.
They have no one to blame but themselves and their crappy execution of a play that could have worked if run properly.

And how many times did we see a ref come running from 20 yards away to overrule the official who was standing right there? And always to our detriment, so that we would have the burden of showing indisputable visual evidence to get the call. Typical ACC ref shenanigans.
