FSU vs LSU tonight

Travis is markedly better. In typical CIS fashion, you guys assumed that 2022 Travis would be the 2020 version. Because kids can’t improve at other programs. But I tried to tell y’all that he was better last year than 2020. And he’s better this year than 2021.

I still see a 7-5 or maybe 8-4 type ceiling for them. Travis isn’t incredible, but he’s good enough to win games for them and, most importantly, isn’t going to throw them away very often like he used to. FSU will be a hard fought game for us, like it usually is.

BUT….again, this is what we want. I’ve said it for a year now. A 7-5 FSU is PERFECT for us. Because they won’t fire Mike, and he can’t recruit well enough to be major threat unless they go nuclear in the regular season. This is exactly how we want. Let them enjoy last night, but let’s hope we smack them, Clemson smacks them, NC State, prob the gators, etc. That’d be perfect.

But make no mistake. FSU is a better football team than they were, and Travis is the catalyst. You’re a hater and a homer if you just say “he’s trash” like I see everyday on this site. He’s not. But I wanna see him beat us in the vertical game when we play. I’m not sold they can win down the field. But his running ability, scrambling ability, and short to intermediate passing/throwing on the move is much, much improved. 6-6 or 7-5 would be amazing for us.

Boutte Kinda upset I guess

Y'all think he's portal bound? View attachment 206903
The kid is going to cost himself a lot of money with his immature actions in game and post game.

Between his drops (he has a 10%+ drop rate over his career), his terrible routes and not even looking for the ball, and his overall bad body language, it's a bad look for scouts. Then on top of it, you run to social media like a scorned 15 year old and take things down? Yeah i'm sure NFL teams are going to run to the podium to pay you millions.

Maybe Arizona will draft him. They are well versed in this from Kyler.

All that being said.....He's still trash!

Daniels wasn't the problem.

The LSU offensive line is terrible. If you listened to Greg McElroy, he said no QB can complete a pass even to a wide open WR if he can't set his feet. He said Daniels was not given time to throw which is why you saw him scramble so much. He questioned how LSU's offensive line depth had gotten so bad.

McElroy pointed out that LSU has a guy playing center out of position and 2 FCS transfer lineman starting that don't look the part.

To most fans it's the QB that is the problem. We only see the WR open and the bad pass. We don't pay attention to whether the QB has a clean pocket.

I agree on the FSU assessment. They are better than last year, but that was the worst LSU team I've ever seen. Forget that it was LSU. That was some bad football regardless of the team.

FSU played so much better than LSU, yet only won by a point.

FSU fans will be on a sugar high from all the kool-aid they're drinking. Their team will have confidence after the win and that may be good or bad. Playing with confidence is half the battle. However, thinking you're better than what you are can be a shock to the system when a better team crushes you like Georgia did Oregon.

O-line not good but homey missed on so many reads. The offense could be tailored better to his skill set as well with more tempo but the dude is not good.

I can agree with some of this but the loss of Mason Smith and the other DE really hurt LSU.

The play in which Mason got hurt celebrating, he ate through a double team and destroyed that play. **** shame. Hope his injury is not serious.

I remember when Mason was really considering us. Injury aside, it would've been incredible to add him to our DL. Hope he gets better.

I wonder if the Cajuns are already calling for Kelly's head for losing what was essentially at home to a down-on-its-luck lowly ACC team.

Wow seeing FSU players and fans on social media saying "they're back".

This is the result of a few things.

1.)One, while being the best conference, people have such an elevated opinion of SEC teams that they think they are much better than they are.

SEC was 4-6 in bowl games, but had the 2 beat teams in Georgia and Alabama.

You get our favorite son like @DMoney and then Lake and Gaby slobbering over the SEC, with he is a SEC type DL or a SEC type RB.

LSU is 11-12 in the past 2 seasons.

They are not a good team. They wouldn't be a top 5 team in the ACC this season.

2.)FSU has sucked donkey balls for a long time, that's why they don't know how to handle themselves now.

A muffed punt that lead to a TD. A second that should’ve led to a TD and a flea flicker for a TD. Then a Mason Taylor missed block leading to the blocked PAT that sealed the victory.

Those were the gifts from a bad LSU team. FSU loses could’ve led to a downward spiral. I guess we will see if they now go off on a nice run.

Travis will always have a capped ceiling because he continuously makes stupid decisions. Half of his throws last night were highly questionable; he doesn’t scare me whatsoever. Should have been sacked five times last night but LSU couldn’t wrap up.

That being said, Norvell called a good game up until the last offensive play, and Ward isn’t a bad back. WRs are meh imo, they just throw it up to Wilson or try to get that Pooka dude running across the field. Not really concerned with them.
