FSU Officially Hires Willie Taggart

But he ain't Al Golden, either.

And you know this....how?

Because he brought a mid-major from obscurity to mediocrity. Al Golden never did anythi....HEY WAIT A SEC!!!

When did Golden have Temple ranked in the Top 20?

I could not give a **** less about Al Golden or sitting here with you sorting paper and plastic like they're not both trash.

Why not wait until the dude fails before burying him?

My bad ... Hot take season never ends! Gotta be the first to say "I told you so ..."

Not saying Taggart is the next coming of anyone, but I think the huge difference between Taggart and Jimbo is the Jimbo seemed to lose his desire. last 2 years frankly didn't look like he even cared anymore. They have top 3 - 5 talent in college, and he wasted it. The asst coaches up there were too laid back, and nice, and appeared he had no intentions of changing staff unless forced to by admin, Not a good mix.

I think Taggart will bring them some life, and a new aggressive defense, as well as open up the offensive. Also, i expect their recruiting to pick up in Florida. Especially at the wr position. what WR would like to go there under the offense fisher ran. Will hurt UF more than us though, because Taggart's a Tampa guy, and not of much of a South Florida guy. Will be interesting to see who he brings as asst coaches and if any connections to South Florida.

What sucks, is they did not have to pay him the huge buy out they would have after another 6-6 type of season next year. program was stale, and they got a get out of jail free card.

Why not wait until he accomplishes something before you anoint him?

The man has done nothing. NOTHING. He is 10-32 against teams with a winning record. 1-5 against P5 teams with a winning record. His lone win came this season against 7-5 Arizona. A team BARELY above 500. He's coached in one bowl game, the Miami Beach Bowl, and he got his *** kicked by his successor at Western Kentucky.

What the flying **** are you talking about, "Wait until he fails?" The dude is nothing but a walking fail.

social justice wins again... thank you Fsu for not hiring based off coaching talent!

All the money and pressure to win in college football and you think they hired the guy because he's black? That's the dumbest thing I've heard in several days.

They were focusing on "minority candidates", but I don't think this is the only reason he got the job. It's a good hire for them, and I wouldn't be surprised if he created a solid program in short order.

I just find it hard to believe that if there were a great, white coach available they'd be like no, we need a black guy. There's no way they care more about appearances than winning. I don't think there are any coaches available who are clearly better than this clown, so I don't see any reason to assume it's about race.

The ticker on ESPN said exactly that.

You must have me confused with another poster. Lol

Where did I anoint Taggart?

That USF team did NOT finish #2 in the country. Lol

But the program had risen to # 2 at one point and you're touting a (barely) top 20 finish?

All you need to know about Taggart's last team at USF is that he lost both games by 2+ touchdowns and when the conference championship was on the line his team lost to Temple by 16.

That USF team finished 9-4, 3rd in the Big East, and unranked. They were #2 for 1 week ... Like Al Golden had Miami #7 for 1 week.

GTFOOHWTBS

And all you need to know about Urban Meyer is that he lost to an average Iowa team by 31, and gave up 55 points to them. Yeah ... That's it. Just like Taggart's 2 losses in his last season at USF is all you need to know about him. Those 10 wins didn't really matter ...

lol

Didn't Taggart drive a USF Bulls bus off a cliff?

They don't really matter because he didn't win a championship of any sort before bailing for another school.

LOL.

Urban Meyer has won three Natty's you utter clown.

Every Florida mid major coach looks great when they get Florida players that the big 3 didn't take. Lane bombed at USC, Strong bombed at UT, Willie one year at Oregon didn't look great.

After winning 3 national championships.

Got it.

So, you have to win national titles BEFORE you’re allowed to lose to teams you shouldn’t lose to.

Lol

Remind me how many national titles our HC has as the HC ...

Or is our guy exempt from the Natty requirement?

What exactly is your point of view?
