FSU Officially Hires Willie Taggart

Why would anyone leave miami and all the beautiful things here for freaking trailerhasse??? While Dugans is from that ****hole it does not mean he wants to spend his time at McDonald's the rest of his life.

But when he was mentioned as an option to replace the Lions’ TE coach, most of this board swore Kiffin was an idiot who couldn’t run a program. 1 season at FAU has changed that perspective already?

They were focusing on "minority candidates", but I don't think this is the only reason he got the job. It's a good hire for them, and I wouldn't be surprised if he created a solid program in short order.

I just find it hard to believe that if there were a great, white coach available they'd be like no, we need a black guy. There's no way they care more about appearances than winning. I don't think there are any coaches available who are clearly better than this clown, so I don't see any reason to assume it's about race.

Urban Meyer turned around Utah and Bowling instantly, and won a ton of games

Maybe some fools did, but Meyer took a BGSU team that finished 2-9 the year prior and went 8-3 his first year. His first year at Utah he went 10-2. The previous year the Utes were 5-6. Year 2 at Utah he goes undefeated.

Everyone wanted Meyer. There were a ton of big openings this lffseason...and nobody wanted Taggart brsides FSU
 
LOLOLOL at comparing Meyer who had Utah as a too team and was lusted after by every program, to Willie Taggert. Lmfao.
 
I don't see Taggert making much of a difference for FSU, recruiting will be about the same and he is nowhere near the coach Jimbo was and I am glad!!

A couple of years with Saban plus getting rid of his lunatic ex wife has really humbled the dude. Finally got the disciple he needed to be successful, paying his dues right and he's ready.

Next guy that hires him is going to look like a genius.

Agree.

Exactly my position whenever Kiffin's name has come up for Miami or any other P5 job. He's still, relatively, young. And definitely young enough to still evolve as a coach.

Back on Taggart, though ... Not sure why everybody assumes they know he will or won't be successful?

He's younger than Kiffin, so he can still evolve, too ...

He ain't Urban Meyer ... But he ain't Al Golden, either. And we'll soon find out which direction he trends ...

Given FSU's current roster talent and taggart's ability to recruit, we should know pretty soon if this guy is the real deal ...
