FSU May Fire Willie - But I Hope

There were some dark days, but don’t exaggerate. We were and many times still are the bad guys of college football. The media always blows it out of proportion. Just like with the Shapiro mess again. That turned out to be boats and hoes. A slow weekend here. Miami will always be relevant because there are too many athletes here willing to stay home to keep us in the conversation. As bad as Al Golden was and how hard he tried to drive this program into the ground, it took him 4.5 years and a school president so desperate for him to remake us into he image of Penn State before Sandusky that she willfully ignored everything about how atrocious Golden was.

Always going to be relevant? Then please explain the 14 years before Coach Richt arrived where Canes football had become a punchline in college circles. ****, even Duke no longer feared us!

Miami once again became relevant the very instant Mark Richt accepted the job to be Miami's Head Football Coach. Last season even saw ESPN touting the Canes, which in comparison, would be the Democrats heaping praise on President Trump!

Don't exaggerate huh??....LoL...You can't comprehend what Butch went through because you weren't there..up close like a few of us were....could barely field a practice in 96....

Gotta love the daily Butch love fest. "The greatest recruiter...ever!" "Never before or never again will football at any level see a talent evaluator like Butch" "Had he stayed he would have won 10 National Championships!" "Butch, Jimmie, and Howard were the greatest UM coaches ever!"

Not wanting to put a fly in the ointment, not wanting to put a stick in the wheels, not wanting to break up the party, but...

Many of the self-anointed football experts who litter this board on a daily basis despised Butch with a passion and wanted him fired having gone so far as to hire banner planes dragging "Fire Butch Davis signage" over the Orange Bowl, not to mention the booing and catcalls during games. Yet, today, they would do anything to have the 'Emperor of Butch Land' return...that is up until he lost a few games then the howls to get rid of him would be deafening, claiming he has always been a train wreck of a game day coach, was highly overrated as a recruiter, and screwed us over when he betrayed the "U" and signed with Cleveland.
Highly overrated as a recruiter???ROTFLMFAO....
Screwed UM over??....LMFAO

Help me with something.

When people such as yourself see or read something that causes you to; 'Roll on the floor laughing your f'ing **** off' does this happen in public places? Let's say you're in a cab, do you roll on those sticky floors? How about when you are in one of those infamously disgusting and urine soaked floors in gas station bathrooms? Should you only be near grass does that qualify as "Rolling on the floor"? Are there training classes that teach people how to roll on floors while laughing one's **** off (truly a complicated maneuver)? And, it is clear that each time you laugh your **** off will require a surgeon to reattach said ****, does medical insurance cover the associated costs?

Thanking you in advance for your reply.

PS: When you say; F'ing **** do you demand that F'ker wear protection? Either way, that aspect will preclude me from the F'ing **** component. Sorry!

How OLD are you?

You sure weren't around when Butch was. You certainly weren't around at the end of Erickson's tenure.

This is a prime example of ignorance - total ignorance - sitting behind a keyboard.

Your "highly overrated as a recruiter" seals your judgement.

No team EVER approached our 2000, 2001, 2002 teams - but the numbers prove out that the 2001 team was the most talented football team ever assembled.

You just crawled out to check the weather?

they don't turn around and hire Butch Davis.

Equal talent, Butch whips Mark 19/20.

Got 48 (at last count) downvotes.

I think I know the problem.

It's the "Equal Talent" phrase.

Because we all know it wouldn't be anywhere near - equal.

Butch would have the better talent - by far.

My bad.

Mark Richt has won 13 games before, so i don't know where u got 10 games is his ceiling. Alot of u same fans was giving it to Butch before he went 11-1......even after the NCAA put us on crippling probation. When i see a team stacked with Richt players then i can say where i see us going. Richt players at UGA decided to stay as SRs and win the SEC and play for a title. Golden players decide to bolt for the NFL like Brad Kaaya and the 2 DTs.

Richt has 164 wins in 17 yrs = 9.6 wins/yr.

The 13 wins he had was in his 2nd year of coaching. So in essence, ur argument doesn’t make any sense b/c in his 2nd yr, those weren’t his players! Those were Jim Donnan players.

Regardless, this team right now was picked 8th for a reason to start the season. Our core are Jrs, and Srs. The Srs have been coached by Richt since day 2. Our Jrs, since day 1. So don’t give me the “wait til Richt has his players” spill; he does.

Nothing is going to change until Richt steps in to the 21st Century with his play calling (i.e hire a real O Coordinator) get a real QB coach, get a real OL coach, get a real LB coach, get a real DB coach, get a real S coach, and get a more level headed D-Coordinator. I don’t foresee any taking place, so my optimism is not high.

Also, let me give u the difference between Richt and 1995 Butch: Richt had been a coach for 15 yrs in the toughest conference in America! Miami was Butch’s first gig. So yeah, I was one of those fans that piled on, and again, b/c I was young and dumb, I didn’t understand what he inherited and Miami was dealing with.

I was one of Richt’s biggest cheerleader (although he was not my first choice) b/c I thought w the new scenery and better recruiting ground, he’ll win. All I see is another “awe-shucks, we’ll get em next time” type of coach who’s more concerned w nepotism, doing things his way, and unwilling to change v. adapting to times. This is why we’ll be a 9-11 win team, tops.

not sure if serious....if serious, some major revisionist history with posters on this site. Butch obviously spotted talent better than anyone back then, but no one thought he was a good in game coach when he was here.
Yeah. Sideline was a Chinese Fire Drill. Again, I apologize in advance if any of you are Chinese...or even Taiwanese...or ethnic Chinese from Singapore.

Richt will build a team in Miami that will be more powerful than any team built at UGA including the one that just played for the title. A team that will challenge the SEC teams, better than Clemson and better than Ohio St are right now. Only two teams in the NCAA have that potential and its Miami and USC. I don't think any savior coaches and schemes can magically turn a team into a winner, it comes thru great recruiting, and when i look at our recruiting i see it happening because while we are at it the man just won 9 and 10 games. And no that's not what we aim for at Miami, but i remember Shannon and Golden using that as their ceiling in year 3 and 4. I have a million things to say about coaching and play calling but eventually everything looks smart and better with better players stacked on to each other on the 2 deep. Every serious top team with the chance to win titles have that, and when we have that we will go toe to toe with those teams. I believe and when i see otherwise i will hold my hand up and say Richt is not the guy.

We were still on tv and we were filling up opponents stadiums. Even if it was to get our asses beat we would win enough for the media to wonder if we were back.

Butch was the GOAT at nervously adjusting his headset on the sideline after yet another 12 men on the field penalty.

Tha was the point of the sanctions. The NCAA wasn't trying to kill us, but they wanted to make sure it was painful.

You just crawled out to check the weather?

You never cease to impress me with your well-rounded idiocy.

There's not a subject that you offer your wealth of knowledge when the reader doesn't conclude they are once again conducting an experiment with a chimp typing on a laptop at The Miami-Dade Zoological Park.

And sadly, you make the chimps look bad due to the association.

Readers come away from reading your verbal diarrhea thinking; "All these years I thought New World monkeys were bright primates...how wrong could I have been?"

I am going to let you in on a little secret Einstien...I was affiliated with UM football when you were just a very, very bad idea in your daddy's pants. I've forgotten more than you'll ever know about the real UM stories--not those from the Miami Herald, or message boards, et al.

Finally, your ignorant response to my post also reveals you have zero reading comprehension...my recruiting comment was based on had Butch come back to coach the "U" those who are now raving about the man would eventually turn on him and would go so far over the top it would lead them to claim he wasn't a good recruiter, which is preposterous.

Have someone with an IQ higher than single digits read my post and then s-l-o-w-l-y explain it to you.

FSU's Taggart asks for patience amid 1-2 start

If FSU fires Taggart, they aren’t hiring Butch. He’s too old and he’s a Miami guy. It would be a hard sell to the Trailerhassee Fan Base.

They are hiring Lane Kiffin. Bet on it. He’s their meal ticket back into The Conversation.
