FSU fires Mike Alford

He's out.

"...Senior associate AD Bruce Warwick will serve as Florida State interim athletic director..."

"...Alford, who was hired away from Central Michigan, had held his title with the Seminoles since 2021. He did not hire head football coach Mike Norvell, though he did sign him to the notorious eight-year, $84 million contract extension ahead of the 2024 season..."

Feels like FSU is where this administration/program was until we decided to get serious. Whether and to what extent they get serious remains to be seen.

If I'm FSU, I give a blank check to Jeff Brohm. Not sure who else is out there that is attainable. And not sure whether he'd leave for FSU.

Billy bob napier dropped 87 points on Wagner. I couldn’t think of a more perfect fit for them and what they need out of their HC.

If FSU wants to be taken seriously as a football program again; this is the path to take after Norvell.

Yup .. he's gone during the season..just depends on which loss is the last straw.
It's happening...

This is the move they should have made to give Norvell the support he needed. I’m wrecked. A new AD will get him another year, maybe three, or a fourth. The right AD hire and keeping Norvell ensures they’ll be a major thorn in our side before we know it.

This SUCKS.
$$$$$ is an issue, they do not have it

so they fire Norvell, to fire staff and hire a new staff 100 M$ is the number I keep hearing ?
any HC then will ask, what is my NIL budget ? tough to answer as they will be stretched to cover the buy outs and hire
Jimbo, would come cheap? maybe Kenny Dillingham ,speculation will be fun Manny Diaz would be fun for us
but think there is more $$$$ at Duke.......

I do not think he did a bad job, upgraded athletic facilities , sued ACC which gave revenue to winners( greta for Miami)
1 issue is boosters do not report to school which causes issues in direction & a large amount of discord

We sure the new hire will happen fast enough to fire him this cycle?

what happens if the save college sports act passes ???, what happens to conferences ? want out of ACC in worst way
SEC or b10.

Either the conference cap is thrown out or there's an "escape clause" that allows P4 schools to change conferences within a certain time frame (e.g. 6 months) before that provision of the bill goes into effect.

The people who would make the decision for Miami almost certainly already know what their options will be when that time arrives

Currrent "acting" AD could fire Norvell and give new AD the ability to hire "his guy".

Maybe they come as package?

Obviously, no one is getting fired (Alford included) w/o "make it happen" from FSU $$$$$$$ bank rollers...

Maybe Spanx Sara* is finally on-board?

* Would
