I understand your point, but distractions are everywhere. Sure, Miami is a target-rich environment, but in reality, there are plenty of opportunities to be led astray even in ****sville USA. Players need to be accountable to each other and have a level of commitment to the team. Do it together as ER says; controlled chaos.

this is were player accountability comes in..you have to keep the main thing the main thing. Distractions are everywhere, correct, but when you choose to stay in your home city, and you are that small percent who make it out of the neighborhood to go to the U and put on, you do become a local celeb of sorts. Which is different from a kid from broward going away to Bama for instance. Sure there are distractions in a hick town like Tuscaloosa, but it ain’t The same as south Florida..trust me on that.

I’m only 26. I went to school in Miami. I’ve seen our players during my time in college around the city on Friday nights before games or Saturday nights after a loss..I’ve seen this with my own eyes..and don’t get me wrong it’s nothing wrong with having fun in college..but when your a athlete you need to sacrifice that, especially during the season. It’s safe to say our players haven’t done that enough. And countless legends point to it over and over again so it’s naive to ignore that or try to make it one thing and not the other. It all matters

If somebody else like that A hole Barry Alvarez or anybody else comes in, the older guys don't get the chance to run the team and a few of them potentially leave early. This is a strange take.

Pinckney was at best a3rd team ACC! He is an example of the problem. Decent 4th year starter somehow believing he was a 1st Rd. Draft pick; Rosenhsaus?. He was a decent player, but not really big, fast or instinctive. Just happened to arrive when LB room was very weak?

And when a player post videos of him working out he gets called a diva. Out of all the problems we have in this program, a kid showing the world that hes putting in the work is the least of them.

You're right the lack of technology. Somewhat obvious, but sure.

But, shouldn't the hard work come first? These kids are getting more attention than an All American from 2001. Measures should be put in place to curb this; it only makes sense. Modern problems require modern solutions. We aint dermb.

1. A player can work hard in silence. We actually notice these the most. Shaq, KJ, Groot, G.Willis, Hurns, Isadora, D. Crawford. Just to name a few.
2. Ed reed said the biggest issue we have is our players are too complacent. He said they don't work hard enough. He said the players home boys are blowing up their heads. STRAIGHT OUT OF ED REEDS MOUTH.

Yet, we don't have an Atlanta Diva issue. Yet, we defend a 6-7 record and lackluster effort.

ROFL, but it still starts with who the headcoach is, these days you got to many headcoaches and coaches admiring the players on the team instead of doing their jobs. Its a leadership issue, anybody that grew up in the real Miami know exactly what im about to say, didnt matter how good you was or played, if you even gave a hint or seemed like you was bout to get the big head, the **** COACHES back than was gone and always checked that **** with the quickness. That's the problem now, just listen to the press conferences after games, most coaches mentalities are real flawed. I know its coach diaz first year as a headcoach, but got dayum, this **** hyped up one of the worst non-productive players on the roster damyum near all year in transfer tate, a **** that hasnt done **** in college but he runs to UM and all of a sudden now he has these mysterious and phatom "special packages", WTF is that. Than jw15 throw 6 td passes against one of the worst defenses in college football and coach diaz with his cynical mindset and has his chest poked out as trying say to us "see, now you guys are starting to understand why i picked" no ****, them 6 td passes didnt mean ****, how bout the 3 picks he threw against V-Tech, or how his low fooitball i.q, was on full display in that gaytor game.

I could careless if it was jw15's 1st game, if a qb is scramblin and runs straight towards the sidelines when he's that far behind the line of scrimmage instead of throwing the ball away, that's a qb that dont need to be at the helm of this team. Point being, we dont need nobody at UM getting praised for ****, including greg rousseau, we were 6 & 7, no matter who got decent stats, the whole team was 6 & 7, including jock rousseau, so coach diaz needs to cease and desist that losers mentality immediately!

I get the feeling that Reed will be the enforcer for that locker room, not in a physical way, but where he makes it clear what they have to do, and if they don't, they don't play, maybe even kicked off the team, if they keep letting the team down. They will respect him and what he says. He's earned that. If they don't, they don't need to be there in the first place.

When asked about the tipping point of when the culture went down

“I can be very specific and say it was the 7th Floor Crew stuff,” Reed said. “That was tragic for the university. These kids took what we were doing and took it to a whole other level and blew the school up with that nonsense. Granted, they were kids, but somebody has to hone in and be mature about it.”

a lot of y’all want to harp on coaching coaching coaching.,which is apart of it..but structure and player accountability are more important. He also hit on recruiting at a high level not just instate but finding the National talent.

Diaz is a culture problem himself. Dude is a goof, responsible for half the roster for 5 years & takes 0 responsibility for the culture he helped breed, which is that of quitters, he just passes the buck onto others.

Impeach this clown & the culture will magically improve overnight.

You can see it with these kids more and more everyday. The signing productions, the typed-out notes requesting no interviews, the clowning of other schools, and just the shear drama of their recruitment. It's apparent that they (and their families) view their multiple offers and eventual signing Letters of Intent as the endgame; that they've made it and are now entitled to all the riches/fame that come with it. When in reality, they're only just beginning their journey and have no idea what hard work is yet to come and what it will take to actually EARN the riches/fame that MAY be bestowed upon them at some point. Clearly the ignorant handlers and family members exacerbate the situation even more.

These kids need to have the mindset that signing on with a school is only one brick that they've laid in their foundation to which they will have to carry many more to add to it to and hopefully, one day, be able to build an actual house upon that foundation. These kids all have shaky foundations on which only a house of cards can be built and a house of cards can't withstand a hurricane or even a coastal breeze...…..their foundations are improperly built and simply not strong enough.

The kids have to want it and it's obvious that many simply don't.

In today's world, good high school players are stars before they even make it to college. They are worshipped and fawned over before they even play one snap of college football. And with social media, handlers, recruiters and other leeches making them believe they are entitled to fame and glory at 18, they think they've already arrived. So then they waltz on campus expecting the world to be given to them only to find out quickly that &hit is hard. Very hard.

Then add in the portal which allows them to just cut bait and jump to another school, it only enables that entitled victimization narrative.

Just like Dabo did with Etienne this year, you've got to have a strong HC to get in these kids' asses and unravel that I'm A Star mindset and remind them they haven't done &hit yet.

Manny has made some outstanding off season moves, but until he demands discipline, hard work and excellence from his players he won't be the HC much longer.

You do what is best for the program, not what is best for a handful of players for a very short amount of time.

The other stuff I agree with wholeheartedly, the culture is a mess, guys thinking they made it before they have done anything, nflu bs, etc. Plus terrible cheap coaching hires and an admin that wants to cash ACC checks while not even reinvesting in program and hoping it can run by itself at a minimum I would think were bigger issues.

I doubt all of these kids were clubbing and doing it big in HS but they get down to Miami and see the glamour and want to enjoy it.

I agree the coaches need to recruit players who prioritize winning, commitment and accountability while also being great players but if it was so easy, everyone would be doing it.

There’s a reason that you only listed 3 teams out of 130 ish. We’ve got a find way to get back there but I disagree that the culture issues are 100% on the coaches and if we had different coaches, these players would be living like saints. I just don’t think it’s the simple.
