From A Recruits Perspectve

Any recruit that uses the fanbase/message boards as a determining factor in making his decision won't turn out well regardless of what the fan base says.

Straight up.

Who gives a **** what the fan base says. Make a personally informed decision. If a recruit is incapable of doing that get off my team. You're going to get run over by all the kids with backbones.

Pretty much this.

Why is everyone so rustled by this recruiting class? We have a losing record with a 4th year staff, plenty of NFL talent and expect a top 10 class. Some recruits like Shaq want to be at Miami regardless and for those very few kids/families we need to be thankful for.

Very thankful for the recruits who want to be here regardless of the record!
For that I thank them and the families!

How would a recruit feel about the University of Miami after spending 1 hour on this site?

But they shouldn't be on this site... Everyone knows what message boards are all about... It's therapy for us fans especially in moments like this... If this site is going to have any weight on a recruits recruitment process than i don't know what to say... They need to worry about themselves and there teammates and future teammates... Not about us crazy fans!!!
I agree they should not be here, that is why I don't allow Shaq to come on....BUT these kids Google there names out of curiosity and find their names attached to a link back here and then they are going to check out what's going on inside... So even though they shouldn't they are... I know of a recruit that just received his first offer from Maryland... I dare not say his name... and I mention to him ...that I mention to the coaches at Miami and his reply was Miami fans even say don't come to Miami he even went on to say the coaches sucks none of the players like the coaches.... so I stopped him and said that's BS where did he get that information from... I had and idea... but then he said CaneInsight... I was like ****... and told him its not true and I will take you to Miami's spring game so you can see for your self... Point is our fan sight is counter productive to what most of us here want... To Win.

Mr. Quarterman these "fans" don't understand that. They don't think talking affects a 17-18 year old. When we all know talking affects grown men, so why in the world wouldn't it affect a teenager.

Some fans just don't get it.

If you want to talk crap about Golden and the other coaches during the season when we play like crap, go ahead. I hate the scheme, hate the lack of adjustments, hate the black jersey crap, etc.....but i love my Canes. So i may say things during the season too WHILE still supporting the players. After the season is over and you kept it going because you wanted Golden fired...ok, completely justified. I agree, the administration should have made a move.....but they didn't. At that point, you should have shut up if you didn't want to cause more damage. The father of a high level recruit just CONFIRMED what many of us have said, that eventhough you don't think it matters what you post on here, it DOES have an impact. If that's what you want.....go root for someone else. Once we realized Golden was on for one more year, we should have just turned the cheek, talked recruiting, and looked at the positive of what we had coming in. Period. You think Shaq wants to hear why the coach he committed to is trash? You think guys want to be surrounded by constant negativity?? NO! That **** is draining. You compare this board to BAMA's when they lose.....well how often do they lose? If BAMA was a 6-7, 7-6, or 8-6 team and had that negativity all the time, i guarantee you some of those kids wouldn't go there and deal with it. But you can get away with it when you win. There's a limit to everything. When you take it too far, you turn things into the dumpster fire we are experiencing right now.

The 2016 class is loaded right now.....and those kids committed to Golden and the other coaches you continue to trash. If you want them to keep looking elsewhere, keep telling them why they should. And when they do, don't ***** about it again next year. If we struggle again, i have no doubts a change will be made. But let's just shut up for a few months and let things play out. Nothing is changing between now and next December except the perception of these young kids who we want to hold on to.

Your last paragraph is exactly what everyone was saying last year.

I hate the smug attitude of *****es like you. "let me tell you how to be a fan. This is what I do." **** off.

We are not the cause of the negativity. We are a symptom of it. The staff, admin and BOT are the cause.

Shaq's dad just said, if the team plays poorly, kids think the coach sucks. There you go.

What do you think hurt our recruiting worse, 6-7 or negative reaction from a fan base that was told to "stop *****ing and realize the progress we've made".?

I'm not telling you how to be a fan. I'm just telling you that sometimes your actions have consequences, as proven by the statements made by the father of a commit. All i said was either stop being so negative to prevent those consequences, or stop b!tching about the consequences when they come true. You can't have it both ways.

And it's funny to hear that my generalization has insulted you do directly that you would refer to me as smug and tell me to f off. Isn't that what everyone of you is doing tell the admin and BOT how to run their athletic department? What's the difference here?

The difference is the admin and BOT are, amongst other things, responsible (and paid to) ensure the program has the best chance for success. If this isn't the case, they should make changes or be scrutinized.

I'm not responsible for a thing so shouldn't be held accountable for a single thing that happens with the on-field product, staff decisions or recruiting.

Shorty you were never a athlete, never recruited and never played college ball. You and Pokemon never did. I got three offers Akron, Hampton, and Temple and this was in 1998. I couldn't imagine what a teenager goes through in 2015.

U know what I appreciate you trying to wake these people up from the ignorant things there doing. Glad your a True Cane fan and Im glad your son wants to be a Cane. Hat are somethings that you see as a parent and fan that the U could be doing better to attract recruits (outside of winning more) I ask this because you've been on campus and you have actually spoken with our coaches and other schools coaches. Thanks in advance.

Ok

Here's the problem, are fans supposed to shut up and act like everything is rosy? No, we demand more. We love our players. I will never take a shot at a kid, but a grown man making 2M is going to hear from me if he's not doing his job

What in gods name does getting offers as an athlete have to do with anything I said? Nothing. Idoicy knows no bounds.

IF the concept of personal responsibility is foreign to you still (I.E. making a personally informed decision), good luck Mr. I had offers from the bottom of the barrel.

So I am really curious since your son is looking at Miami. How does having a losing season, not winning bowl games, and then the admin not changing coaches have him look at the college? I am really curious if it has as much affect as we think or if these kids are more pushed by friends and actual recruiters and other things instead of the things fans see as important.

Went to Miami and FSU game at a big gathering at the Ale House here in Orange Park... was sick... neither one of us spoke one word after the loss...went straight to bed... Shaq's school went 12-1 last year... that 1 was a dagger in the hard... Shaq went 14-2 in middle school he went to the SuperBowl in Orlando in Pop-Warner... after two undefeated season... We like winning.. Its not everything its the only thing... If you are not successful then something got to change in everything we do... Now 2 questions back to you...

1. Who here will have direct influence over the staff and administration that can demand a change?

2. Who here had direct influence over a **** good corner that could potentially become a cane?

*As a collective voice from here... I think it can and will make a change, but I fear the damage that will be caused in doing so.

- A wife burns down their house because she wanted her husband to move out... She was successful

Thank you for replying to my question. This is what I thought was the answer winning and if not making the change to do so. I am sure the "noise" gets to some of these kids on the fence but even the "noise" means nothing when you win look at FSU and Bama when they lose because they do it so infrequently. I played with some guys that were recruited and played at Miami and Louisville and from what I remember this was years ago they wanted to play, win, and get into the leauge message boards and twitter werent around then so it changed so much I have no idea what these kids go through now.

Also it's not like the fanbase is in here bashing the school. There are some out there yeah but every fanbase has their "special" ones. We are bashing the coach and for good reason. If a recruit can't see with his own eyes that our coach isn't doing a very good job then he isn't paying attention. You commit to the school and not the coach, that's why you come to Miami right now.

He just wanted to flex up about his Akron offer.

Tell me what a recruit thinks when he reads this board and sees the following..

- Dudes wishing a kid to blow his knee out because he decommitted

- Fans -- usually out-of-state Folden-supporting blowhards -- labeling an entire region, our own backyard, as "a bunch of prima donnas" because they don't wanna play for Al.

Exactly. HOLD MUH DIIIIIIICCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKK.
