Dude, Really? So a recruit is going to look at a Canes sight and then say to himself that he doesn't want to come because people are trashing this staff? GTFOH with that! A recruit is going to feel a certain way about 6-7, our ****ty defense that we continue to run, not winning games, losing! All these factors matter not the fan base! If that was the case, then Alabama should not even field a team because their fanbase is ten times as bad and they are winning right now!

This. Go to a Bama site after a loss. That loss to Oklahoma last year, this year's loss to Taint, Man! You'd think the Apocalypse was at hand.

But they shouldn't be on this site... Everyone knows what message boards are all about... It's therapy for us fans especially in moments like this... If this site is going to have any weight on a recruits recruitment process than i don't know what to say... They need to worry about themselves and there teammates and future teammates... Not about us crazy fans!!!

I agree they should not be here, that is why I don't allow Shaq to come on....BUT these kids Google there names out of curiosity and find their names attached to a link back here and then they are going to check out what's going on inside... So even though they shouldn't they are... I know of a recruit that just received his first offer from Maryland... I dare not say his name... and I mention to him ...that I mention to the coaches at Miami and his reply was Miami fans even say don't come to Miami he even went on to say the coaches sucks none of the players like the coaches.... so I stopped him and said that's BS where did he get that information from... I had and idea... but then he said CaneInsight... I was like ****... and told him its not true and I will take you to Miami's spring game so you can see for your self... Point is our fan sight is counter productive to what most of us here want... To Win.

Let me ask you a question, if you don't mind, well, maybe a couple.

How do kids look at 6-7 record?

How do kids look at a university after the parent of one of the best players calls out the coaches?

How do kids look at the university when they make no effort to hold the head coach accountable?

I know how they see it when they look at this website, it's a mess!
But the school is forcing the fanbases hand to call for action!
We are a very passionate fan base, who hold our team to the standards set by some of the NFLs best players EVER!
That's right! They played for TheU!
They have been silenced by this staff and Admin. Or they would be just as vocal as we are!

I don't want Shaq having to say at some postseason draft related all star game after his time here that he wanted to be able to show people what he could really do.

I don't want what happened to Chickillo to happen to Shaq or anyone.

They DESERVE good coaches.

This is tough love and it's ultimately for the benefit of the recruits.

No disrespect intended whatsoever, but the bolded part of your post likely affects that recruit's perception of this program far more than fans being vocal about our current situation.

Certain recruits likely have more concerns about this staff than even the most outraged fans on this board. I don't think we're ending up with such a poor 2015 class because of negativity. We didn't just lose Jordan Scarlett because of social media or message board outrage.

This fan site would be overwhelmingly positive if changes were made. Local recruits who aren't going to come here would likely have a much different opinion of Miami as a possible destination if changes were made. We all want what's best for the program and it's impossible for fans to feign optimism to present a facade to onlookers with such a toxic situation on our hands, even if they felt that a more positive outlook would help matters.

Miami is a pro sports type of town. I can see Shaq Daddy's point but one also has to realize that we have extremely high standards (ones that hopefully his son will help us live up to again) and you won't find SEC type delusion around here. There are plentyyyyyyy of drawbacks to these schools where the fans are cult-like sunshine and roses types. You're seeing our worst side right now and unfortunately that might scare some kids off but at least we're open about it. Frankly, I'd be more concerned as a parent if you saw more people accepting the status quo. At least now you know that mediocrity won't be tolerated--at least by us.

It's ultimately for the benefit of just about everyone. Taking a step back seems counter productive but sometimes it needs to be done to make even greater strides going forward.

That being said, I've always appreciated Shaqs pops getting on here and keeping it real. I'll be rooting for your son no matter what school he goes to.

Must people here would of let Al Golden have *** with their wives not to long ago and we still got destroyed by FSU in recruiting. He took Matt Thomas away when Al Golden was called "The Don" and Arkansas took Alex Collins.

One can make a stronger argument that golden and his philosophies are counter productive to winning.

I agree! A fan should never tweet/FB/IG or anything with a recruit! It's wrong and just weird! But I cannot see why using our collective interwebz/ billboard/banners are wrong! Most of the fanbase will not tolerate Miami being sub-500.... And I can't believe its a question as to why we are so outraged..... 6-7 not a standered I think any D-1program should live by.

Mr. Q, I am glad you asked the question, which is very valid. The internet is anonymous, and at times, that allows people to act in inappropriate ways, in a manner that they would never act in public. I do think that when you look past the anger, you see very passionate fans, and that is always a plus for any program.

I 100% agree I think the most frustrating this Mr.Quarterman is to me that this administration and staff have gone 2 years without changes... Golden needed to make staff changes and philosophy changes to give HIMSELF a better chance to win big here... He has not.. And no one is forcing him to.. So the reason why people NOT ME who tell recruits our coaches suck and don't come here is because Golden who's had two GOLDEN (no pun intended) OPPORTUNITIES to make staff changes and has not he consistently spews the same BS... I want him to price me wrong as bad as anyone I'll be supporting the canes this year just from my couch... Instead if at the games like my dad and I have been doing for the last 9 years!! I hope and pray no matter what happens next year shaq stays he's a superstar talent and I say that legitimately not to kiss ur behind.. Next year whether good or bad because I'll strongly believe inevitably this GOLDEN's last year. Good he leaves for another job and bad he gets fired... So I am really curious since your son is looking at Miami. How does having a losing season, not winning bowl games, and then the admin not changing coaches have him look at the college? I am really curious if it has as much affect as we think or if these kids are more pushed by friends and actual recruiters and other things instead of the things fans see as important.
