He's a better ROI investor than Warren Buffet.Rhule also got $40m from the Panthers in his buyout. Generational wealth for the Rhule’s for a 55% winning percentage

Everybody keeps saying Cignetti but I really think it’s a smaller chance than people think unless he just really wants to be back in his home state. People are vastly underestimating how much $$$ Indiana has, which is fair because their sports haven’t been great in some time. But IU actually has a massive alumni base and boat loads of money rolling in. Think it’d be hard to pry him away. Would be more of a lateral move than people think considering how good he has Indiana already.Matt Rhule is a fools gold coach. He's not terrible by any means, but he likely interviews very well, is part of the good ol boy network of coaches, but the results are middy city.
Mario is a better coach than Matt Rhule. James Franklin is, too. 5 Top 10 finishes after inheriting a ****show pedo scandal school in 10 full seasons. Half of his seasons he finished in the Top 10. SEVEN he finished in the Top 20. 6-6 in post-season fare, including 2-1 in the CFP.
They aren't finding better than that...especially not with Matt Campbell or Matt Rhule or Al Golden.
MAYBE they could with Cignetti, but you should be happy with just a push there.
If there is one school that should be checking their couch cushions right now and getting their money lined up...it should be MARYLAND. All in, highest and best offer for Franklin. He'd have them in the upper half of the B1G quickly.
He’s also already at $9m so going up 1.5m a year isn’t much given his winning. Also someone will have to give a 65 year old HC 10/$120m and I just don’t see it.Everybody keeps saying Cignetti but I really think it’s a smaller chance than people think. Yep. I think PSU’s best shot at him was when he was leaving JMU. Should’ve made the move on him then but that would’ve taken a lot of balls. Feel like that ship has sailed for PSU.He’s also already at $9m so going up 1.5m a year isn’t much given his winning. Also someone will have to give a 65 year old HC 10/$120m and I just don’t see it.
Oh wow, did Penn St foresee literally their entire class decommitting?
This could crater them for years.
Evidently the AD is close with Rhule from Temple. There’s a ton of Rhule and PSU ties as well. Is a deal ironed out completely? Probably not. But there’s enough connections to get a sleazy backroom handshake deal done. You give the people involved in these types of decision too much credit in my opinion. I doubt they had anybody lined up. More likely the boosters and other power brokers funneling money into the program started threatening to pull out.
I personally think it’s pretty obvious that Kotelnicki is the person who made the adidas comment. The funniest part in all of this that nobody is talking about. Kotelnicki turned down the WVU HC job so he could stay at PSU for the playoffs. Then they paid Knowles $3 million only for him to check out 4 games in bc he interviewed for the OK St job.
He’s the guy that hired Manny for five minutes at Temple. I heard a CBS guy ( McFadden ) and a 247 guy mention three awful names . McFadden said Schiano lmao . The 247 guy said Manny since it’s the same AD and he’s very well thought of in Happy Valley. Either one of those guys are fired they’ll burn that dump down. Rhule the other one.I know absolutely nothing about the AD at PSU. But there’s gotta be close to a non zero % chance they didn’t get something lined up before this decision. I get getting ahead of some other schools, but this just screams they already have their guy. It also shows they probably saw what happened with UF and Napier. Napier did enough to save his job, and now he’s probably going to get canned a year later than he should.
If the plan was to can Franklin to end the year, say they catch lightning in a bottle and win out. Go 10-3. Yea not what they hoped for but you will have a much more difficult time firing him.
I doubt they hire Cig. Just not a smart move imo. IN seems willing to spend. He’s also having real success. Why leave? Rhule is their Mario. It almost makes too much sense.
Bring him in for 4th quarter decisions in big games. Do the opposite of what he says.Bring him in as an analyst. Figured I’d just get it out of the way before someone else said it
I have no idea but it’s clear that his career has been set back years. He’s a big of a clown as Franklin is in all this.I personally think it’s pretty obvious that Kotelnicki is the person who made the adidas comment.
I’d hire Franklin back before I gave manny the keys. He’s the guy that hired Manny for five minutes at Temple. I heard a CBS guy ( McFadden ) and a 247 guy mention three awful names . If it’s not Cig they’re f’dI’d hire Franklin back before I gave manny the keys.
What was he doing between Baylor and Nebraska?
Oh.
Can you still "be a cheeseburger" in the age of the fat shot? Not just weight, but also the number of pounds it changed
Aim lower.Me thinks PSU is about to wander the desert for 40 years. Not sure what they were thinking unless they got Urban lined up or something.
