Frank Ponce

Exactly.

We have absolutely ZERO reason to believe that some big splash OC is coming on board. The way this thing is being run (and has been run) there is no reason to expect anything like that. Expect the opposite.

We don't need a big splash OC hire. We need a good OC who has a scheme that plays to the strengths of the recruiting base. I don't care who he is. He could come from D-2 for all I care. Just get the right guy.

And the right guy, given our situation, is an experienced high quality SAVANT who's proven and has a reputation that recruits will gravitate towards.

I don't care how any of you DBJ *** kissing apologists try to spin this......this adminstration has managed to outdo itself....AGAIN.

We go cheap and lazy on the HC hire and instead of breaking the bank for a top notch OC we get an out-of-left-field REACH

There's a reason this program is where it is.

I wasn't speaking specifcially about Ponce. As far as I can tell Chad Morris doesn't fit your profile when Dabo hired him. Dabo a "cheap and lazy hire" himself. That was year 3 for Dabo. Not year 1. He was coming off a 7-6 season and people were howling. He hired a career high school coach with one year of experience at Tulsa. He took a risk and it paid off. You've got no idea who the right guy is. Hopefully Diaz does.

^This is more in line with reality than a lot of the wishful thinking I'm seeing on here.

It's the same *** kissing, "pack a juice box before you go to school", Don Bailey crowd who thinks everything the administration does is good and involves a plan driven towards success.

They are as clueless as the ******** they are depending on to pull this program out of mediocrity

At this point I'll take my judgment over anything that comes from the administration in Coral Gables. They are morons that can't get out of their own way.

Given a free pass by Richt and they light that **** up with kerosene

lincoln riley was never an HC when he was promoted at OU from OC. not saying manny gonna be riley, but you guys have zero to base your assumption manny will be terrible as an HC. its a risky hire imo since he has no prior HC experience but we went proven w richt and got 30 years of plays. I'm fine w the risk and lets hope it works out. interested to see the o staff

The administration isn't making the OC hire, Diaz is. If you think Manny is dumb then that's what you think and you're well within your rights to expect it to go wrong. He understood what type of defense works at Miami. We'll have to see if he understands what type of offense does.

No I think the collaborative flavor of the statements say the AD will have input on the hire. They'll find someone with a track record and won't leave it all to many as a rookie HC... Don't be surprised to see a national search to help vett OC candidates.

I have a feeling they'll do a national search.......that leads to Brown and Dugans being named Co-OC's. I ******* hate Blake James.

Are you really this dumb? The whole point of contention with Richt was THE OFFENSE. He didn't want to make changes.

So you're telling me they didn't EXTENSIVELY discuss the plan ON OFFENSE with Manny BEFORE they officially hired him? By signing off on Manny, THEY SIGNED OFF ON HIS PLAN.

So yeah, I stand by my previous post. Incompetence ABOUNDS as it has for the last 20 years

AGAIN, this is what happens when you treat the symptom (****** coach) without first treating the disease (****** AD)

Sounds about right for this bunch
Who says you have to call plays? Have N'kosi or Jarren make them up and diagram them in dirt in huddle. That way opposing teams will never be able to say predictable, we know what you're going to run.
