Frank Beamer Is Rolling In His Grave

He a extremely high paid PE coach.. Wouldnt you dance if you get a kings ransom for that? I didnt even know Beamer kid was a HC, kids look like they enjoyed it and it fits the whole content for social media BS people have to deal with.. What credibility did he have, is this dude saving the world or something?
I would not.

He's an extremely well paid individual that is being trusted to lead and develop 85 18-22 year olds. I wouldn't want to play for someone that clowns around like that (there's a difference between dancing in the locker room after a big win and a pre-planned, well produced and filmed video) - but each to their own.

Do young black kids respect when older white men of authority attempt to ingratiate themselves by acting like circus buffoons? I saw this with the Brian kelly video, where he was grinding on that recruits *** to feel closer to "duh kulture."

Just for the record, Steele don't play that chit. I listen to Fortunate Son, hunt ground hogs before sun-up, and **** in a colander to savgh e the reusables. Steele doesn't grind, doesn't *** with his Timbs on, and once made a fat Auburn kid do Oklahoma drills until the National Guard was called in to stop practice.
I'm older but I know it's not sincere. When I'm walking, I say that but 9 of 10 cars driven by a white person that pass by are playing rap. I even saw a country boy in jorts and no shirt in a jacked up 4 Wheel Drive truck playing Mike Jones....,,Mike Jones. So maybe it is sincere.

To me it’s a general rule, the more you try to be like your players, and be their “friends“, and this is part of that, the more they lose a little bit of respect for you.

You’re no longer the authority figure - you’re closer to being one of them. Since when has that ever worked?

What these young men really need is leadership, competent instruction on how to improve, and someone who’s doing everything that needs to be done behind the scenes. They don’t need TickTok stars, they need men leading them.

Dance like a fiend, and end up 7–6, they’re not going to care, but cool, we thought he was almost one of us for five minutes when he was doing a dance.

Who’s the last coach that the players thought was super cool and was one of them? I can’t remember his name.

This is fire.

He is young enough to make it work.

This is probably the most fun he will have all year because they won’t win many games.
Nah man, they are good for one good upset outta nowhere per year. That's the most fun lol

If done well yes. Take this rap video. No one who enjoys rap can tell me these old white dudes arent 100x cooler than you would think based on appearance alone

I hate to break the news to u, but a lot of young black kids get off (pause) by seeing this. I mean one of the biggest followings on IG right now is an older, white truck driver dancing to an old school hip hop track everywhere he goes.

In this internet age, yeah…it wouldn’t keep happening if it wasn’t resonating. Kelly, on the other hand, was just weird from top to bottom.
As a teacher, black kids love the surprise of non black mentors getting loose. My parents are Cuban I have tons of rap & hip hop on my planning period play list, shocks them every time!

Slightly less cringey than Pelosi wearing the Ghana kente garb a couple years ago.

I guess some of you haven’t figured out yet that being liked, and being respected, are two completely different things.

They’re not necessarily mutually exclusive, but if you’re a leader, you have to be respected. And ultimate long lasting respect involves you being an excellent leader, your accomplishments, and what you help the people under you to accomplish.

Doing a cool TikTok dance with your players isn’t going to put anything in the bank account for them. Sure, they “like it”. So what? In the end they’re going to respect your wins a lot more than they are your dancing abilities

There is a huge difference between cringe Kelly dancing and this. Ya'll are also making some big assumptions about what Beamer is like and what music, etc he enjoys day to day. He's known as a more fun dude that is young enough to know what's what. The kids probably wanted him to do it and clearly had fun too. USC is good at social media stuff as a school for their football.

Can't stand gatekeeping about dumb crap like this lol.

You are overthinking this a little. We all love and hoop it up when Larranaga does it. If a coach can define lines/boundaries between fun and business, good for him. I mean, do you want coach dancing during team meetings or practice? Probably not. But it's the offseason so whatever. I mean, ****, if a guy like Lane can succeed at Ole Miss, some lightheartedness here and there can also endear players to a coach (IMO).

If you have a problem figuring out whether you're for or against Beamer's antics, then you ain't black.

First of all, as far as I know Larranaga has done that maybe two or three times in his entire career at Miami, and it was always after a big win, whether it was during March madness or something along those lines. Also, it wasn’t an overproduced pre-thought out dance routine. Generally an older guy like him it gets written off as cute, because Larranaga has already built his respect. Beamer has accomplished nothing.

I get what you’re saying, which is that in the big scheme of things it’s not that important, and it isn’t. But if it’s indicative of the coach having this attitude of trying to be players friends, which is what it seems like, that never works.

I don’t have experience coaching in college, but I have experience leading people, and leading people that lead people. And I can tell you some the worst performers are the ones that are always trying to ingratiate themselves with the people that work for them, they almost always end up not being successful. That’s just my opinion based on experience and what I’ve seen, maybe you have a different outlook, if so I’d like to hear it, but my rule is respect is hard to build and easy to lose.

Sam Walton danced a hula on Wall Street on a bet that the company couldn't exceed 8% profit. That's significantly different than making a video like this for no good reason.
