I'm older but I know it's not sincere. When I'm walking, I say that but 9 of 10 cars driven by a white person that pass by are playing rap. I even saw a country boy in jorts and no shirt in a jacked up 4 Wheel Drive truck playing Mike Jones....,,Mike Jones. So maybe it is sincere.
Where tf do you live?

First of all, as far as I know Larranaga has done that maybe two or three times in his entire career at Miami, and it was always after a big win, whether it was during March madness or something along those lines. Also, it wasn’t an overproduced pre-thought out dance routine. Generally an older guy like him it gets written off as cute, because Larranaga has already built his respect. Beamer has accomplished nothing.

I get what you’re saying, which is that in the big scheme of things it’s not that important, and it isn’t. But if it’s indicative of the coach having this attitude of trying to be players friends, which is what it seems like, that never works.

I don’t have experience coaching in college, but I have experience leading people, and leading people that lead people. And I can tell you some the worst performers are the ones that are always trying to ingratiate themselves with the people that work for them, they almost always end up not being successful. That’s just my opinion based on experience and what I’ve seen, maybe you have a different outlook, if so I’d like to hear it, but my rule is respect is hard to build and easy to lose.
Holy ****. It’s a dance. It was the off-season before media days. It’s a fun activity for whay generally is a fun time For coaches and kids who attend media days. It’s not that big of a deal. He could absolutely habe the entire locker room under his thumb and complete control. You could be a no fun ******* and still be a ****** leader.

This might be worse than the instagram live videos the Miami players had under the richt and manny era. They would go live almost every day and have a dance show

I just think in general it’s a bad idea to try to be “one of the guys“. But I’m not that emotional about it.

It’s just an opinion. just because that’s the way I carry myself, doesn’t mean others have to carry themselves the way I think they should. It’s their careers, they can do whatever they want. I’m not going to go ballistic over it. Maybe calm down a little bit?

The analysis got a little deeper than I expected here.

I think the main difference when an oldhead coach does this stuff is that it's funny on multiple levels and a good way to endear themselves to the team.

When a young guy (or a fraud like Brian Kelly) does it like this it can very easily become very corny. This is no big deal and I'm sure Beamer's guys had fun with it but kids are also obviously social media creatures too and the ridicule will eventually be absorbed if he keeps doing this stuff.

You have to believe that kids at FSU got embarrassed by the reactions to some of the cornball **** that their staphs have pulled trying to be cool and seem young.

In the end, it’s honestly not a big deal either way. You’re either good at what you do and have success, or you aren’t and you don’t. I just found from personal observation that people that put energy into trying to be liked or accepted as a leader by their charges, don’t end up being very successful. But that’s just my opinion based on what I know from my experience, maybe other people have different experiences, but it hasn’t been mine.
