I imagine staff will be very cautious with his reps in fall camp since we will need him big time in season
He didn't participate at all in the spring, did he?

He practiced towards the end
I think he participated only in the last few practices onlyHe didn't participate at all in the spring, did he?
100% for the last week-week and a halfHe didn't participate at all in the spring, did he?

Heard he looks good and explosive. Back to his Liberty form when he was averaging 20 yards per reception.
LSU was selfish handling his injury - wanted him on the field, playing at 50% more than they wanted him 100% due to question marks they had at WR with lots of young guys. Typical Brian Kelly ****. It was an LSU rival program (that also recruited him out of the portal) but I was told they guilted him into playing due to his NIL saying he should sacrifice his body for that amount of $.
I think WR1 on our current roster is more talented than Restrepo was but not (won't be) more productive. Also, hard to replace his IQ and just overall reliability. This would be huge. Obviously. But REALLY huge. Big. Bigly. Hugely.
That kid at absolute full-tilt is a good receiver. You pair him with Jojo and you've got 2 really talented kids on the outside.
I still think we should have went hard after Pena, but that whole discussion has been beaten to death, so I won't start all that **** up again. I just think a healthy Daniels, a Year 2 Jojo, and a seasoned, savvy, productive slot player is a REALLY good start to a very productive WR corps.
But, great to hear on Daniels. Keep that foot encased in glass all summer, we need him to ball from jump street in the fall.
he just got open.I think WR1 on our current roster is more talented than Restrepo was but not (won't be) more productive. Also, hard to replace his IQ and just overall reliability.
BUT I think 2025 Jojo and Daniels would have both been better than the 2024 versions of Horton/George/Brown.
I'm more curious to see what Dawson's offense looks like without the go-to guy in the slot. I would have went harder after Pena for that reason alone. Definitely think Trader/Daniels is just as good or better than probably 55 or more P5 teams' top 2 guys on the outside. Add Marion in the mix as the first guy off the bench on the outside and there's a high ceiling and a high floor for that group.
If Toney is the guy some see him as, we might be much more dangerous at WR.

Time for Dawson to earn a P5 HC opportunity.WR1 is like Bigfoot on this site. Nobody knows what it means, but it's provocative.
Is it the most talented WR you have? Is it the one with the most catches? Yards? Targets?
To me, I think the kid with the most talent in the group is Jojo. But I don't know if he leads the team in catches. As you said, Dawson has PEPPERED Restrepo since he got here. Is that going to continue because that's how the offense is funneled? Or is that because Dawson and TVD/Ward trusted X more than anyone, and he was open?
I'm with you, I'm really interested to see how the offense plays out this year. We have a QB who can get any kid the ball at any level of the field. And he's WAY better in a clean pocket (not many QBs aren't), which he should have a ton of this year. We should be similar in the way last year we were ahead of the sticks a lot because we don't give up negative plays. Dawson's running game is predicated on that.
So where does the ball go on the ~33-35 times a game Beck hits his back foot to throw it? I'm really not sure how this target distribution is going to work out.
I’ve yet to hear a compelling reason Trader shouldn’t be the primary slot WR for us and get up to like 60-75% of his work there. Toney as a true frosh getting around 25-33% of the work (always in slot) makes sense to me. If he’s a stud he earns more. Obviously Lofton will play split out in slot a lot too. But Daniel’s and Marion on outside with Trader in Slot would be my starting lineup personally. Trader can move out or Moore can come in and get Toney/Johnson in game… Ny Carr will hopefully see a lot of reps too… idk to me I just wouldn’t at all be worried about slot cause I think Trader can easily fill that role in an offense that emphasizes it…I think WR1 on our current roster is more talented than Restrepo was but not (won't be) more productive. We are counting on several players that have just not stayed healthy. JoJo, Moten, Demari, McCoy, Rodriquez to just name a few. Some have had some more serious injuries, but all of these guys have at least stayed nicked up way to much. At least JoJo has just been a year.I’ve yet to hear a compelling reason Trader shouldn’t be the primary slot WR for us and get up to like 60-75% of his work there. Like to me in slot you got Trader > Toney > Johnson / Carr > Ray Ray / Upshaw… I think we should be able to get good slot play out of that group…
Think Pete and/or @DMoney were raving about some of his catches during the spring once he started practicing. That's good news, I didn't realize that. I like hearing they at least let him get out there, makes me feel a little better about being full-go this summer.
People Keep thinking Marion is just a kick Returner, Will be Suprised he has Gained 10lbs more at 6’1 203Lbs with Breakaway Speed stood out at BYU Spring Practices.I think WR1 on our current roster is more talented than Restrepo was but not (won't be) more productive. I know Fields Situation with him aviliable because he hasn’t enrolled at Notre Dame Yet, but Donaven McCulley? He did enrolled at Michigan. Unless he is in the Portal he is stuck? Unless you know something we don’t knowWe are counting on several players that have just not stayed healthy. JoJo, Moten, Demari, McCoy, Rodriquez to just name a few. I hope they are still hitting Fields up as he is still at UVA. ND summer session doesn't begin until June 9th. He had feelers out.
I won't lose site of Michigan. The portal is always open. Last NCAA meeting June 6-7th. The hammer announcement gets dropped July 22nd, I believe. That will give us almost a month to get our DT or maybe WR Donaven McCulley as players are scrambling like roaches.
I believe CJ is about to be our #1, but I am always looking.
