Former player arrested in Bryan Pata murder

****, potentially over a chick and then getting beat down a bit? I'm not surprised, but it's just completely senseless.

There is no justice for Pata. His life was cut short and his family will never get him back.

If Jones is indeed found guilty, he'll hopefully get what he deserves. What that is, I don't know.

Sucks for these two families. Both will essentially be losing a son although one family can still reach out to theirs. I imagine he has some kids and they'll be losing a father.

All over some dumbass ****. Sad all around.
 
This is why I had no problem when ESPN ran this story again earlier this year. People on this board were upset but justice wasn’t served. His family needed closure.

I specifically remember you mentioned its potential benefits. Credit to you.

As said above, glad the article ultimately had a positive purpose. Hated that it kinda undercut Pata's perception some, but obviously worth it. Kinda wild that ESPf'inN was the impetus for law enforcement to apparently push forward.

I believe Live Oak and Lk City are about 30 minutes apart. It's country AF up there. Or at least it used to be back in the late 80's early 90's.

Sometimes it takes another set of eyes to get things to happen. For my grandfathers murder, it had been 5 years without even a lead. A new detective got on the case and realized they never did a DNA test on the skin under his fingernails. The ******* is now behind bars for life.
 
Man the craziest thing on this is just last week I was reading the long investigative piece ESPN did on the incident last year. They even worked with a PI firm that said this case wasn’t hard it was just poorly carried out from the start. Jones was the most logical suspect throughout reading. Believe their was a quote from Hudak saying most of the team believed it was him or he was involved.

Didn’t we recruit George Timmons from there the same year as Jones? “The Lake City Boys”?
