Former player arrested in Bryan Pata murder

You need to watch all those 20/20 and Dateline shows about long-unsolved murders. Or watch the HBO series on the Golden State Killer. Sometimes the answer is so obvious, and yet the cops still can't figure it out.
i get it but if they had a suspect what could come up other than a confession or the killer told someone else.

Someone that was connected to Jones probably just got in serious unrelated trouble and flipped to save their *** from those charges. Doubt there was new evidence or someone had a pang of conscience this many years later.
i just posted this before i saw this. i agree with you. he told someone. NTS: never tell anyone you killed anyone.

Those who r the closest, r unfortunately, those u need to keep ur eye on the closest.

My heart is absolutely broken hearing this. First it brings up all those fresh memories of a young kid, who turned his life around, moments away from providing his family a life that many strive for, and he’s taken away, way too early. When B.P died, I was hella upset & sad. I assumed the worst, something from his past caught up, or a botched robbery….never could I imagine a teammate, someone apart of This U family doing him in. And for what? Jealousy? Mad at ur old chick moved on? Things were handled like men, squab up. And you skip a mandatory team meeting to confront & act like a bytch and head shot?

Peace & prayers to the Pata family. May this arrest, & hopefully subsequent conviction at least give u peace of mind that justice was had for Bryan. Un-f’ing-believable.

**** it mayne. I'm happy for the Pata family in that maybe they'll finally find closure in this. However, to hear that it was a former player is just downright disgusting. IF he did it, he can burn for all I care. I remember shedding tears 15 year's ago, now I'm just ****ed, shocked, & all of the above. RIP Pata, hope justice is FINALLY served.

Bro it sounds like it was possibly over a female 🤦🏾‍♂️

This might be one of the most f’d up things I’ve seen in years, next level ****. My jaw is sitting wide open , it’s almost impossible to shock me these days.

It definitely hurts more when it's one of your own, crazy and sad. Always seeing that same picture every year and for me personally I was there watching them take that picture that night.

Bro, this bull chit is always over a female! Like there’s so many chicks out here, yet ninjas are so quick to pop a dude over someone that’s CLEARLY not faithful. I don’t get how these dudes r so quick to take another man’s life over a female that belong to the streets.

Dang it. Really??? Only thing that can take comfort is closure for the Pata family but Pata is still dead. A freaking teammate??? SMH

The article only provides information that has been known for 20 years. I am extremely curious to learn what new evidence the police learned that resulted in an arrest. And understand that this decision, in a high-profile, cold case, would have been made with the knowledge and agreement of the prosecuting attorney's office. I don't know if Jones did it, but there is clearly a lot of thought behind this arrest.
This is not First 48 obviously.

This is taking simping to a whole new level.

On a more emotional note, what a f-cking punk. Jones knew that Pata would have whipped his *** so he ambushed him with a gun. I'm so sick and tired of these spineless punks who need a gun to be tough. Be a man, even if it means getting your *** kicked because at least there is some honor in fighting for what you believe in. There is no honor in sneaking up and shooting someone in the head. Gutless.

Shocked ESPN has nothing on their page yet. Will have to give them a couple more hours.
