Former Miami WR Cam Vaughn has filed a lawsuit against the university and NCAA in Miami-Dade County

Cam Vaughn wasn't here long enough for me to care but he should be able to transfer and play football. If the goal of college is to work toward one's desired professional career how dare a university stop it. If we're being honest football is their major and business admin, law, etc is a fallback as a minor. Imagine if they told every student that interned "You worked for a professional company you can't comeback to school", or "You can only transfer to schools of my liking during the timeframes I have decided for you."

Why would they care? Do the paperwork, submit it, and if the NCAA denies it thats on them and not the university.

If his lawsuit succeeds, then players will have a loophole to the transfer portal to just transfer whenever they want.

Just get dismissed from your team.

From my understanding tho, the penalty to accepting a ghost transfer (a player who entered portal after it closed) is with the team who takes him.

So whether UM enters whim or not, doesnt really matter. Just transfer, and the team that takes him will pay the price.

Vaughn went from Jacksonville State with Rich Rod when he returned to coach WVU. Rich Rod gave him his walking papers not long after. Apparently in the WVU-Texas Tech game when he missed catching a pass he then turned away & made no effort to stop the DB or follow through on the play. Just one example of “doing his own thing” which would never fly with Mario.

It’s nothing at all like the Xavier Lucas situation where the portal window was open and Wisconsin just refused to allow Lucas to enter.

I appreciate the back story, but what i was asking is why Mario dismissed him from UM. The only thing i heard was something about a traffic infraction and an arrest. What were the details????

If a player is dismissed I don’t see a reason he shouldn’t be allowed to transfer. Not sure who would want him.

bc actions have consequences. there is no transfer window until the winter. we need to teach these kids actual real life lessons. theyre soft as **** including this kid

Anybody can transfer to another college at any time, assuming that college will allow them to enroll. He's more than welcome to go be a student, live in the dorms, and toss around a frisbee on the quad somewhere else. The problem is being eligible to play college football this year. That window has closed for him unfortunately.

you are correct. Lucas basically withdrew and enrolled bc they wouldn't put him into an actual open transfer window.

there is no window here. miami just has to sign off to put him in by winter (next open window). hes basically suing us and the NCAA to create his own special window bc hes a **** head who cant stay out of trouble.

now he can still be a student anywhere he wants. my guess is UM didnt kick him out of school. they just told him he now has to pay his own way like any other student.

unfortunately, most schools have started classes this week and last week so unless hes in academically at another school by add drop, hes **** out of luck there.

It looks to me like he wants to get paid out what he thought he'd make this year. The transfer portal is probably not the main issue. But I've not seen the complaint.
