nope. not false.
There’s an article right there and multiple people explaining it, but maybe you can’t read.
nope. not false.
Yes the approach has failed, but cops dont make laws, they enforce them.Only to the irrational. Living in a police state, with the highest per capita incarceration rate in the world hasn’t stopped crime.
so maybe, just maybe, when a current approach has failed; lots of violent crime and lots of incompetent cops, maybe we should consider something different.
but not on this forum.
This is wildly misleading and incorrect. They didn’t dismantle or disband their force, they reformed their union and hire more than double the amount of cops.
Like I’ve said before, if you take away power from public unions you will get results. Camden is living proof. But I guess their improved numbers are just a “right wing talking point.”

Camden Didn’t ‘Defund the Police’ | National Review
The New Jersey town executed a legal maneuver to depower its police union and bring back safe policing.www.nationalreview.com
How about you read the **** article, man! There’s an article right there and multiple people explaining it, but maybe you can’t read.
But I think any reasonable person could agree that in today's political climate, it wouldn't matter what you call it that the opposition no matter the affiliation would play the verbal gymnastics to try and discredit. I'm trying to zero in on not letting semantics get in the way of something that could bring about real change. It actually does matter what you call it. Dismantling something isn’t the same as reforming a certain part of it.
“The University of Miami should dismantle its football program.”
“Well what I actually meant was we should fire Manny.”
You see the difference? Capitol Hill, and wherever these local politicians legislate from, isn’t a message board after a loss. It’s wildly irresponsible for them to make that claim. These orgs meant what they meant and so did the politicians. Parroting their talking points only fuels the fire and doesn’t help anybody.
I wrote the exact same thing earlier in the thread...its soooo stupid to use Camden as an example of successful dismantling of a police force. Completely false.

America's 'most dangerous city' defunded its police department 7 years ago. It's been a stunning success.
Editor’s Note: An earlier version of this story featured a photo from Camden, South Carolina. It has since been corrected. One of the most popular calls to action by protesters in America’s streets after George Floyd was murdered by a Minneapolis, Minnesota police officer is to “defund the...www.upworthy.com
Well, mask is classic bad man gear going way back, so they could just be traditionalists or maybe believe in selective compliance with rules. Jest aside, prayer for the guy.I’m a bit lost with the shooting someone with automatics while wearing protective masks for covid.
So what's your grandiose idea of change that every right winger has been scoffing at?Right wing robots are so brainwashed and indoctrinated that they just puppet stupid political talking points on every subject. They’d rather keep doing everything the way it’s always been even if the way it’s always been isn’t working because their feeble brains are incapable of considering or processing change.

Sure does. Also, he was fast to react, either excellent protection skills, fast reaction times, or knew them.****.... looks like they were targeting him

Listen!!! They don't want the police TOTALLY gone. That's tired rhetoric and insanity. ****, we need the cops in our neighborhoods! But we need cops that are doing their jobs, the right way. They are hedging their bets on trying to do something a little different. It's quite apparent, that the old way (current way of doing things), ain't working. So it's on the local gov't to try to find a better way of policing it's citizens. The article provides a way to get something done. That's all. Stay off of FAUX NEWS, and pay attention to the cries of the people. This is not the plan of people calling for disbanding cops. There are no plans of rethinking public unions or the force as a whole. They want police gone.
instincts a car stops in the middle of a street. I'm not sticking around to see who it is. I am getting loose. That's what it feels like sometimes growing up in a not so safe neighborhood.Looks like he might know who it is. From the video, it looks like he reacted very quickly when they got out of the car.
I claimed they changed what was the status quo. I never said they got rid of police altogether. For a few years, even the state police took control of policing Camden. The definition of insanity. Keep throwing money, manpower, military equipment *eye roll*, at crime and not achieving the "desired" effect. At what point does a different approach make sense?Except they did the complete opposite of what you claimed. They added more officers...ALOT more officers.
