Wasn't it back when 'Dre Johnson was here. Something similar like this?

Yes, he was suspended for a summer I think. I remember Dorsey had to go practice with him at Coral Gables HS because he wasn't allowed on Campus.

Lets hope at WORST its just a suspension and he doesn't get booted.

How do we know this is not something like him receiving benefits or doing something to causes his eligibility to be in question? That's what it sounds like to me.

That was my other thought. Maybe illegal contact with an agent or something that made him ineligible, but why specifically site the education records privacy clause. If he is ruled ineligible for illegal contact, that is usually reported to the NCAA and made public. Not kept hush hush. When they CANT discuss it, its usually because its an academic issue.

Al said it was his decision not to play him. Weird deal if it's an academic thing and they allowed him to travel and be part of the team but the HC decided not to play him. Doesn't add up.

He was caught using pine tar during the home run derby

best of luck at Bama and enjoy those All American honors

Sounds like it was a play him if you want but risk it being a potential eligibility issue if you do.

I think it was probably cheating. I imagine he might be suspended for a semester, than take a redshirt. He was allowed to travel maybe to cover for him. I can see a upper extremity (brain) injury putting out for the year.

I work at a university, and FERPA covers all school records, not just grades. Unless the student has signed a FERPA waiver to authorize someone, the school cannot comment on any issues related to the student, whether it be holds on an account to grades to biographical information.
