A lot of people reading Blake's rebuff of more money as sheer incompetence and lack of vision. I think that may be only part of the story. We've all heard the line about Blake being some kind of ace fundraiser a thousand times by now, usually in response to criticism that he has no idea what he's doing as AD. Doesn't him basically turning down a direct offer of funds fly completely in the face of that? Even if he wasn't entirely on board with the Alonzo thing, you still have a booster saying they will go out and pound the pavement for more money to help the program. And you turn that down?

I wonder if an additional explanation is James saw this as the boosters encroaching on what was supposed to be his expertise. If the boosters can band together and contribute funds directly to hire people, then what exactly is he bringing to the table? It's not like he had any other of the necessary skills to be AD. Maybe his thinking was: better to turn down an offer of money to maintain control the money spigot, than to accept it and make it clear that once there are enough motivated boosters, the school doesn't really even need him anymore?

Obviously beating a dead horse here but frankly this was a real piece of shvt horse that earned it and then some.

Although I don’t appreciate Barry calling former and current players JAGs, the rest of the article makes it even more clear that both Blake and CMD must go. They cannot be in decision-making positions if the Canes want to contend for championships.

My only question is whether you terminate CMD immediately after the Duke game (as soon as the plane lands), or do you wait a couple of weeks to allow for the new AD to make that call?

IMHO, the Canes should have someone waiting at the airport on the tarmac to hand CMD the pink slip. It’s been nice, but we have to begin immediate focus on the bowl game and incoming recruiting class

Again, Manny is gone and the decision has been made. A tremendous amount of success, which he’s obviously fallen woefully short of, would have to accompany the way he’s handled himself behind the scenes. People concerning themselves with the last couple games are foolish. Root for our boys (like we always should) and hope they utilize the last couple games to cement the bonds and love they have for being blessed enough to wear the uniform. Part of me feels for Manny as anyone who’s been dismissed or moved from a position knows it’s not fun. On the other hand he’s handled himself like an *** to many good people who could have helped him along the way. These on the record comments are equivalent to breaking the bottle on the table and looking at the bar saying, "I'll cut you bïtch". Not surprising given what he does for a living: interacts/deals with some of the most intense, direct, and volatile personalities on the planet--more than one willing to finish any conversation with violence.

He put this interview out there for effect..to try and shape pending action/inaction... as in the same as what resulted from Herby Herb's national dressing down of our Hurricanes several weeks past. He's Golden Canes and not BoT, but don't be surprised if he didn't have outright encouragement, or at least unspoken approval, from a BoT faction. Certainly the more genteel BoT members will eye roll and tsk...tsk, but this guy probably wasn't on (nor ever cares to be on) their Christmas card list. It is important to note that while saying the things Lambert put out can make certain audiences feel good on a visceral level, understand that he isn't a program decision maker (an influencer sure) and those thay are (either sinhular or group) may push back in ways he didn't expect or desire. Buckle up buttercups.

Jackson naming players who have flamed out could also be further message sending (Manuela can't run a program) or it could be he's just being a "call it like I see it" journalist. Fascinating though that mostly what he puts out is met with substantial derision on this board, but when he releases something the mob wants, he's not met with the same scorn.

Where we are today is it seems there is overlap in all the different messaging, but there remains some very different themes as well. In the end, someone is going to be right with their insider info amd someone is going to be very wrong.

Blake had no clue. And it doesnt even surprise me one bit.

All this knucklehead did was raise funds and sell tickets. Thats it. Doing part of the actual athletic work, like evaluating performance, never was his strength because he had no clue how to do it. He was never in that department and also never at a school that prioritized it (Yes, Miami from 2004 till now included).

Blake James hates confrontation. Thats why people, who confront him, hate him. They scream stuff into one ear and it never reaches his brain, it just goes out the other ear. You cant talk to him. And you cant go far in any business with people who cant be confronted in any way, shape or form.

The funniest **** in his resume are two things: Mentioning how impeccable student athletes graduated and the opening of the CAROL SOFFER IPF. Regarding the first: Students and in some cases professors decide how well you graduate. But the AD has 0 influence on that. None. Especially considering the fact that student athletes are not regular students and that the grind of getting a degree is far less hard for them. I could even argue the ones who cant even get that done are ******* morons.

Regarding the second: Its in the name. It literally is in the ******* name.

I am ******* glad that this **** is out. Allows everyone to know about it, point towards the old bags from the BOT and it can only go up from now on. Lambert is paying the biggest NIL deal here and he wants to win. I am not even slightly surprised he comes out and says that. Its all about fan support now and Frenk, thankfully, is on the right side here.

This is the last I’ll talk about this comedy show which is the UM BOT / Prez.

First off if you believe the BOT is “toothless “ in anything or “lacks power“ I have some ocean side property for ya. Secondly the media like all main stream news media are shills. They take the side of or push whatever agenda their sauces gives them, because of the access. As we’ve seen all of this has been playing out in the media. Using the “Journalists” as pawns in their real life game of chess.

If you follow my posts you know I’ve been saying this is a crap show for a long time. People caring more about playing politics, pushing their agenda , their guy or their vision of what the program should be. Wanting things done but on their terms.

There‘s Bot members that legit care and have a plan but not all are created equal. There’s a pecking order. Some have a louder voice and wields a bigger stick.

Whats sad is there’s donors that want to spend money and would spend more if they knew there was a plan and their money was actually going to something, Which is beyond sad , they have doubts their money actually goes to where they want it directed. It’s criminal how high the ceiling of donations could be if somebody in the Administration had a clue. Even more comical we actually have donors who couldn’t get a response from the former AD, for months. These are people that donates real money smh.

The more I learn on this the more disgusted I get as a fan. There’s nothing too simple for these people, it has to be something dramatic like Blake completely sabotaging himself and the program for them to finally react. Just like the Herbie situation. People suddenly care and pay attention when they’re the ones with the gun pointing back at them lol.

Lastly does anyone remember somebody mentioning Dan Lambert being huge behind the scenes and Manny / Blake killing the Zo deal? Just checking , since it’s news…..again lol.

It’s nice you have inside sources but as mentioned you aren’t a journalist or any type of media presences except this board. So you getting butt hurt by a Barry Jackson article is hilarious. You may have known these stories but again you have no platform like these outlets who write stories and are followed etc. I think everyone appreciates the info but you gotta settle down. Maybe you should get into journalism or hired on somewhere you can get the credit so we don’t have to hear you cry.
