First words from Lashlee as Cane, why he came, what he needs to do to get DBC back

"Buy in" caution!!!! Hope this is not yet another guy trying to force a system on players instead of making a system for the players we have. I know it seems our guy should be good in this system but we will not know until we see it. Howard changed offense system and it worked when he got the right players. JJ changed the D and it worked when he got enough speed for it. Dennis changed O and players were so good that it worked until he didn't have the right back for his one back. Butch recruited players that were so good and worked them so hard that it almost didn't matter. Nothing since them has worked at all.

I'm as close to hopeful as I can be these days, but I'll just say this...every single new coach can manage to say some sht that fans like. The question is, can he back it up. We like what he says he's going to do, but we've liked what every coach said they'd do. Enos and doritos were going to do things that sounded legit, but fck me if either of them could figure out how to make it actually happen.

"Our philosophy, and what we'll tell the guys, is that we want to play fast and physical. I think there's great advantages to playing fast. There's also a lot of things that go into that. You have to execute at a high level. You have to play well, otherwise you can't go fast. I think when you get to where you can play fast, it gives you a lot of advantages as an offense. You're able to be aggressive, you're able to dictate more to the defense, instead of the other way around and really, that's just the way I've always played going back to my days playing quarterback for [Auburn coach] Gus Malzahn in high school. It's just what I believe in and what I know and what's been successful."

I wish him luck, but nothing about this team tells me they can execute much of anything. Yeah scheme has hurt us, but the players don't seem to be able to do simple things consistently. At times we've struggled with catching, throwing, blocking, kicking, and tackling. I really hope this is like the time all our DTs sucked, then we got a new DC and our DT were great.

Miami OLine needs to be much much better.. I'm sorry in order for our CANES to be relevant and a contender, Miami Needs a Much Much Better OLINE.. WE NEED GUYS WHO CAN BLOCK, nothing good can happen on offense without a solid OLine.. SO Miami needs to fix this OLine FIRST, NOW IF this new OC can find a way to make the OLine work for his Offense, then maybe... BUT LIKE I SAID, this Miami OLine needs to be fixed..

I like this dudes swag. This offense should be tailor made for Kosi or Martell to thrive, though I think TVD and Matocha can play as well based off HS tape, if they take the reins. Williams might as well pack his bags cause he makes decisions waaaaaaaaaay to slow for Lashlee to consider using him as anything other than holder on FGs.

I

It appears that manny didn't do his own homework when he hired enos.
I think Manny got caught up, with Enos being apart of the Bama staff and just figured that was good enough.. He was fooled by that, we should've knew when he couldn't get Jalen Hurts here after being his QB coach at Bama.. THAT SITUATION, was telling us about Enos but we missed it!! IF ENOS WAS IT, HURTS WOULD'VE FOLLOWED HIM..

I'm sorry but Perry and Martell needs to go, that would definitely help with pulling in a transfer off portal.. NOW I think Williams can be solid IF the OLine is fixed.. In games where he got time to throw he looked good, and IF this is a spread offense I think this fits him better than the RPO system, he's not a running guy (take away the play action on every snap, it wasn't fooling anyone anyway)..

Let Williams, TVD and Matocha (and hopefully a transfer QB) compete for the spot.. JUST MY THOUGHTS

Respect the opinion. I still have games recorded. Just think William's is bad with progression. He lost me at going through the motions. Doesnt sound like a leader of men. Kosi had to deal with watching him "go thru the motions". I would gladly take a portal QB and they all can leave. But I do think the system fits Kosi or Martell better than JW

I don't know if I agree. I think OLine is the priority. We need to fix the OL first.

This type of offense worries me when we get into the red zone and in short yardage. Don't get me wrong, I love the fast, uptempo, spread the ball around offense. If I was a coach I would run it all day long.

But... they tend to struggle running the ball on a 3rd and 2, or have trouble scoring because of lack of physicality and smaller field when it comes to a first and goal from the 10.

I'm hoping because we played so many young pups up front that they will turn into big dogs ASAP. Young OL tend to struggle. Unacceptable is the older experienced dudes that stunk it up. S&C needs to be spot on during the winter program, and we need a top notch coach at that position.

Fastest three and outs in history on the way.

Don't get me wrong, I want us to go fast. I just don't think we have the ability to do so. We desperately need a QB that can step up and learn this O in a hurry.

Lol, this is my worry too. I remember not being ****ed when al slowed Coley down to help the D, and I wonder if we won't be in the same situation next year. I like what Lashlee is saying, but a lot has to go right for it to work. And if it goes wrong we may be seeing teams put up big numbers against us.
