Finishing up next year's non con schedule?

Do people really want our OOC to be something like UF, Bama, ND, and USC?

Please tell me what other school does something like that. Look at Bama's garbage OOC schedules recently, and they've won 3 of 5 national titles.

I'll take that over the dumb anyone, anytime, anywhere mindset of people stuck in the 1980s

Yup. But the mouthbreatbers here aren't always great at strategy.

Meh, I'd rather watch more fun/competitive games. Aside from FSU and Louisville/Clemson every four years we play the Coastal and 3 non conference pushovers. It's the equivalent of playing 10 mid-majors every season. Granted recently(the last decade) the mid majors have been pushing our **** in, now that we appear to be on the up-and-up I'd prefer watching actual competition.

We've been playing a decent ooc opponent every year. We had Neb the last couple years. Played UF, ND etc. One P5 and a couple G5 should be good. I totally get your point tho.

This is an honest question. Did Fat Al ask for these crappy games? FIU, Toledo, Arky State? I know they were made when he was still coach. I know AD's "make" the schedule, but head coaches usually have input. Not like basketball and baseball, but still. I wonder if lardass wanted easier games to pad his stats/resume.

James is beyond remarkably incompetent at making non con schedules on time. We still haven't finished making the 2017 non-conference schedule. He hasn't finished the 2018-19 schedules either. Anybody have any idea who they're considering for the last opponent in 2017? Right now they have ND, Toledo and FAU.

Blake James is completely incompetent. AT App State this year, AT Arkansas State next year, and AT Toledo in 2018. Why on earth are we agreeing to home and home series with these types of schools??
Incompetent, when's the last time you hired a coach the level of Richt? When the last time you raised $30mil for a indoor practice facility?
When you done either, let us know otherwise so much hot air from your corner!
PS:Above all else,James not a two bit turncoat like Hocutt at Texas Tech or that jerk that went to Neb.

1. Let's not forget that had he missed on Richt, Greg Schiano or Cristobal were our next options. Something something blind squirrel and nut
2. Sure, the practice facility will be great, but it's a decade too late. We're literally the ONLY Power 5 program without one at this point.
3. James went out of his way to protect Folden and did everything he could not to fire him. Ultimately, he was overruled by BOT but if it were up to him, Folden would still be HC.
4. James banned signs, props, etc. at all basketball games to retroactively cover his *** for lying about a rule that didn't exist. The reason? He wanted to get rid of "Fire Golden" signs but instead just ruined the fun of the basketball student section.

Golden wanted to water down the schedule, and Blake accommodated him. Blake also set up neutral site games with LSU and Florida.

I would no longer schedule USF, UCF, FIU, or FAU. Why play them? I understood the earlier rationale for recruiting and perhaps reduced travel but the recruiting angle is no longer as valid as CMR returns Miami to elite status. A Miami program consistently in the Top 5/10 doesn't need to play at Tampa or at Orlando for exposure to local kids.

The 4 OOC games (or 3, if the ACC moves to a 9-game schedule) should one home-and-home with a Top 5/10 team and the remaining games home-and-home with teams in the Top 11/25. Games are usually scheduled well in advance, so a team could fall off or jump up.

If a Group 5 team wants a game they come to Miami.

No more D2 teams.

Ideally...

For those two reasons, Fake Jimmy will always be a gaping bootyhole to me. Fck that schmoe.

LOL at guys crediting him for firing Folden. He was Folden's lap dog. He even spoke in Foldenisms while Folden was here.

Scheduling East Peckerwood State or any of these Deliverance area schools at their place is just asking for trouble. You would think we would cancel these games after what happened last weekend in Bum**** NC. These people in places like. that are not civilized.

Fresno State, Cal, or SDSU wouldn't be bad ones, neither would BYU or Wyoming.

Decent programs, and we're not stuck playing at Sun Belt or MAC schools.

A few home-and-homes with PAC-12 teams would be cool. Stanford, USC, and Oregon in particular.

James wanted Schiano before Richt became available at the last possible second.

Schiano was a mediocre DC who underachieved with the talent he had. (Similar to Coker as OC.) He was a mediocre Rutgers coach. And James wanted him as head coach.

UF was scueduled a few months ago, after Golden got fired. Golden may have demanded that game not be scheduled if he were still coach.

If we go to a 9 game ACC schedule, you schedule the other 3 games as follows:

1. Traditional P5 Powerhouse (home and home or neutral in between),

2. Another P5 Team (home and home), and

3. Bullchit team in Florida (i.e. FAMU, FAU, BC)

No more "neutral site" games with nd that's are 23 feet from their campus. Obviously don't get trapped into going to an app type place again.

Finalist behind Richt was actually Mullen, but I guess why worry about the facts.

This year's schedule has worked out well. Incrementally better (but lesser) teams, the first two at home. App Store was a good first road game for the young players and new staff. ACC Conference play starts and a 3-0 Canes team has a lot of confidence and game experience.

Perhaps some of us would prefer USC's schedule, opening on the road against Alabama? Then FAU at home, followed a road game at Clemson (instead of USC at PAC1-12 conference favorite Stanford). No thanks, not yet.

Maybe Blake has a meth habit? He's obviously showing preference to sending us to hilljack enclaves and rust belt hellholes. Boone, Jonesboro and Toledo? Reads like a Trump campaign itinerary. It's not like there's an absence of garbage programs in real cities but he's here sending us on the road to places most people couldn't identify on a map.
