Everyone is talking about coaching replacements. Rightfully so. I've already read how we can't "pay" certain coaches and how others are out of reach. When we hired Randy Shannon, we missed out on Patterson (TCU). When we hired Al Golden, we missed out on Kevin Sumlin.

Why can't we talk about offering a coach an exchange of benefits?

Different than when Al Golden replaced Randy Shannon, we have a decently talented football team. We can discuss the various assets (and I think there are plenty), but I'll focus on two: Chad Thomas and, of course, Brad Kaaya. These are potential college superstars who happen to be True Freshman.

Do we have an enormous budget? No. Can we pay a decent amount? Yes. But, here's what this post is about and what I hope we focus on:

Miami has always been a launching point for players and coaches. While some have said someone like Mark Stoops is looking for a bigger payday than we can provide, has anyone actually talked to him about his bigger, long-term goals? Does he eventually want to grow into an NFL coach (where the real money and challenges may lie)? If he does, Miami provides the players, brand and potential national stage to launch someone like him into the NFL stratosphere.

In this scenario, an aggressive coach does everything on the field to get us back into the national spotlight and eventually to the top. We have all of the talent resources available within miles of the school, as everyone knows. We already have a foundation in place.

And, that, everyone, is the direction and leverage I hope we use this time around. Back to our roots, please. Aggressive on all fronts.

If we hire some schlub who thinks this is some lifetime appointment, I'm gonna lose it.

Stoops is my number one guy. have been for quite some time. Kentucky's win against S.Carolina only solidified it. Stoops doesnt strike me as a guy destined for the NFL

USCe looks like trash this year but i do like stoops. he'd be my number 2 behind butch.

This season is painful to watch

I honestly cannot remember a more frustrating season in the last 25 years. The reason is because I feel horrible for the players. When team leaders told me last year they basically shrugged at the core "philosophy" they were fed each day, I began that line of questioning. Some of those guys would do **** near anything they're asked to do. Worse yet, I think we have a number of NFL players on our current squad. Specifically, for some of you who came at me last year when I said the same thing, here are guys I think will play in the NFL next season:

Duke
Walford
Flowers
Feliciano
Pierre may get a Luther Robinson-type look and might hang around some practice squads
Chickillo will get a look
Gunter will play

That's nearly 1/3 of our 1st teamers who I think will get some work in the NFL. And, we're hanging them out to ******* dry on Saturdays.

seriously no more ***** lifers. Let's get back to coaches who only want to be here for 4/5 years. Lifers have ruined us.

Exactly. The most painful thing to me is we have become stripped of our identity. I had a friend try to tell me the last time we were good was when jacory was our qb. His argument "we were ranked." I was furious. Almost ended up like an AQM situation but since I'm not an athlete I probably would've skated.

There are no good qualities about this guy and the program he runs right now. People say "he's a good recruiter" but a major component of recruiting is evaluation which he has been awful at. Despite his deficiencies, we've managed to get a great collection of individual talent but are minimizing their use. Out of the Big 5* DEs in the 2014 class (Carter, Myles G., Thomas, and Featherson) Thomas is doing the least. Go figure.

And honestly, our 2014 class was a result of a loaded south Florida year and coley reeling in a **** of quarterback. I heard golden cane out of the reilly gibbons in home saying "This is the best in home I've ever had" And we all know how that story ended. That sequence sums up his tenure here, a guy in over his head.

We just signed one of the best top to bottom recruiting classes in the country including a blue chip QB that is much more than just a prospect.

Add to it extremely strong groundwork laid for 2015 and 2016 and that's a huge draw for any coach not looking for a complete rebuild.

Dont forget denzel, he has busted his ***, he wil definately be playing in the league

No matter who it is, I want an aggressive coach. I like Dan Mullin for instance, up-tempo, always pushing the pace. Our games look painfully slow in comparison...

Ironically that was the career path we had envisioned when Golden was hired.

Ha. He's a possible 2nd rounder next year DESPITE the coaching staff. I thought I had added him.

There are up and comers on lower level CFB. We should be doing our due diligence and looking for someone in that regard IMO. Someone that will be here 4-5 years and looking to go to the big stage and show his game.

Exactly

There are the obvious studs we have recruited, but there are also diamonds in the rough a good staff would get out of the Sfla talent on this team. That is what we have been missing for over 10 years. A coach to come in and up level the skill set of the players based on scheme. These kids haven't been placed in a situation to succeed and our record shows that.

Wait til next years group of juniors add to the list. We will truly understand how much of an abomination Golden was.
