Finally Admit Lanning > Mario

I think it’s important to remember that not everyone was sold on Mario from the beginning. Going back to the Mark Richt and Manny Diaz hires, there were people who questioned the idea of bringing Mario in whenever his name came up. Some never wanted him as the head coach, and that skepticism has carried over into his tenure at Miami. Because of that, you have people who are quick to seize any opportunity to criticize him. And what better way to do that than to prop up the coach who stepped into Mario’s old position at Oregon and found quicker success? It gives them an opportunity to push the narrative that Miami made the wrong hire.

I'm not saying everyone in this thread falls into that category, because that's certainly not the case. But those people do exist, and some are just waiting for Miami to take a loss so they can jump in and say, "I told you so." Rather than acknowledging the progress this program has made under Mario, they're more interested in finding evidence to support the opinion they held before he ever coached a game here. Having some skepticism is fair, especially considering everything this fanbase has been through over the years. Nobody is saying you have to blindly believe in Mario or ignore his mistakes. But if you're not someone who genuinely hopes he fails, then I think it's time to let this go. This thread doesn't need to continue any further.
I was late to this thread adding in my $02 cents. I stoked an unnecessary fire 🔥. FSU week!
