If somebody like Mario came in kids would have to leave or change habits and fast. He’s the opposite of manny. Imo most of these kids what to be coached hard but it’s hard to take this whole thing serious. Especially when you don’t respect the coach.

I feel like what you mean is the stuff we heard some players having mental breakdowns, probably getting breaks, do whatever you want, probably don’t hustle to drills and Manny is the “I understand my son, I know it hurts having a child in your tummy.” Type coach.

I’ve been giving examples all through this thread. Ive posted in the past kids here like what comes with playing football at UM, not the actual work that you have to do to be great. I will say the youngsters have the best attitude and seem to get it. There is some guys that care.

It wasn't technically "players only". Per Manny- It took place in the maternity ward at South Miami Hospital and multiple obstetricians were present.

What's additionally scary is reporting that the staff are snowflaking too. One would (like to) think Shoop, Simpson, Reed, T-Rob, or others in the loop would have enough influence to prevent this trainwreck of attitude and performance... and to think the best nearterm change might be one of them becoming interim HC isn't very promising.

My assumption is it was about Don beginning of this year. There were rumors Don ran away with the job, was going to be the bell cow and Harris was going to look for greener pasture. There was also some hurt feelings when Manny told Harris after a failed third and 1 run last year that we wasted a scholarship on him and he should be at FIU (kinda ironic considering we lost to FIU) but there were rumblings and I think he had some vague twitter posts. But nothing more than that.

True. The only "players only" meeting I recall working was the year we opened with LSU. They had like multiple guys suspended, practice fights, had a players only meeting before our game, we got all excited about off-season champs again, citing the players only meeting as the wheels coming off the bus, Ed O was a dead man walking, then they won 10 games that year and 15 game and the championship next year. Other than that? they are rarely good.

You’re right. Whenever you read about “player only meetings”, there’s a problem in the clubhouse. This is just another layer being added to Manny being fired at some point before December 2021
